RCA Living Stereo - LSC-2230 – Spain ~ Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Reiner
Original U.S. Pressing (Red Seal / Shaded Dog) Early 1s / 5s "I" Indianapolis Press
I recently came across a number of early audiophile classical LPs (RCA Living Stereo and Mercury Living Presence) that I am listing for auction. The condition of these records and their jackets is quite spectacular. I worked at a used record store for many years, and I can’t remember seeing Living Stereo or Living Presence records of this quality very often, if at all.
The RCA are all shaded dog, and the Mercury are all dark maroon labels with silver print, and the back covers of the Mercury records are all full color w/picture. Most are very early pressings with low number stampers in the dead wax, and all are stamped “I” in the dead wax, indicating that they were pressed by RCA at their Indianapolis plant. I have carefully and thoughtfully graded each record and jacket. Most fall into the NM/NM- category. The vinyl is deep and shiny with light hints of use, and the jackets are glossy with bright vibrant colors with no spits or tears. Any variations from this description will be noted in the specific listing.
