Background -

This mono LP features cello music written by Schumann and Brahms and performed by Gregor Piatigorsky on cello, Artur Rubinstein on piano, accompanied by Sir John Barbirolli conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Superb performances! The LP is the earliest "outline dog" vintage and was made in CANADA and issued in the 1950s. The vinyl is in very good condition, not perfect, as there are a couple of marks on side 2 which may sound on some systems (see below for details).
  • LP made by RCA Records, in CANADA

  • LP released in the 1950s - "outline dog" vintage

  • Stampers are 2s / 2s, the inner ring information is machine stamped/pressed right into the dead wax of the vinyl (not hand written).

  • LP is recorded in MONO

  • Record Catalog Number: LCT 1119

  • Record Labels are primarily gold, with deep red (maroon) lettering and have the famous "Outline Dog" logo around the top third of the label.

    CONDITION Details:

The LP jacket is in excellent condition. The jacket is tight and clean, with NO seam splits. It has a bit of color foxing that can be observed on the front and back of the jacket (age related). The corners are solid. The colors on the jacket are sharp. The corners and seams show a bit of shelf wear due to the age of this jacket. Considering the age of the LP, the jacket is in excellent condition (see pictures with this listing as they are of the actual item).

The LP is in very good condition! There are some light marks on the vinyl, in particular side 2. Most are spider marks caused by sliding the LP in and out of the outer jacket, however some of these marks may sound on some audio systems as it depends on the sensitivity of your gear. The LP retains some of the original gloss and sheen! The record was obviously well taken care of! There are NO serious spindle marks on the record labels. That said, acquiring a vintage LP like this is for the performance and rarity of the LP, not necessarily for the sound quality.

A Short Note About LP GRADING -

    • Mint = Only used for sealed items.
    • Near Mint = Virtually flawless in every way.
    • Near Mint Minus = Item has some minor imperfections, some audible.
    • Excellent = Item obviously played and enjoyed with some noise.
    • Very Good Plus = Many more imperfections which are noticeable and obtrusive.

For best results, always thoroughly clean your LPs before playing them.

LPs can be audiophile quality pressings (any collector of fine MFSL, half speeds, direct to discs, Japanese/UK pressings etc., can attest to the difference a quality pressing can make to an audio system).

Don't let this rarity slip by!!!
