Description
TITLE: SHOSTAKOVICH: CELLO SONATA / SCHUBERT: "ARPEGGIONE" SONATA Daniel Shafran, Cellist and Lydia Pecherskaya, Pianist - - RCA LSC-2553
THIS IS A “LIVING STEREO” “SHADED DOG” AUDIOPHILE RELEASE, WITH THE 1S STAMPERS ON BOTH SIDE 1 & 2. HERE IS THE FULL STAMPER CODE IN THE DEAD WAX: L2 RP0980-1S
I CANNOT PLAY THE VINYL SO I CAN NOT DESCRIBE THE SOUND. I WILL TELL YOU WHAT I SEE UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT:
SIDE 1 HAS NO VISIBLE SCRATCHES, BUT HAS WHAT LOOKS LIKE 4 LIGHT PAPER SCUFFS IN THE FINAL 2 TRACKS: SIDE 2 HAS A 1”+ MEDIUM SCRATCH THAT RUNS OVER THE LAST SECTION OF TRACK 1 & THE BEGINNING OF TRACK 2. THERE ARE 2 OTHER VERY LIGHT SCRATCHES & SOME VERY LIGHT PAPER SCUFFS. BOTH SIDES ARE QUITE SHINY WITH THEIR ORIGINAL GLOSS.
THE RECORD COVER HAS A FIVE INCH TEAR ALONG THE TOP SEAM, SOME SCUFFING & EVIDENCE OF RINGWEAR. STAMPED IN BLACK INK ONCE ON THE FRONT & IN 3 PLACES ON THE BACK IS “SPECIAL SALE DISPLAY OR DISCONTINUED MODEL”. THE BACK COVER IS LESS WORN & SEEMS IN GOOD SHAPE (SEE PICS).
VINYL: EX+ COVER: VGTHIS RECORD IS SIGHT-GRADED ONLY UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT, ACCORDING TO THESE DEFINITIONS:
SEALED: RECORD IS WRAPPED IN PLASTIC & UNOPENED.
NM-: RECORD HAS LITTLE OR NO INDICATION THAT IT HAS BEEN PLAYED.
EX: MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE (LIGHT SCRATCHING/PAPER SCUFFS), BUT IN ALL A RECORD THAT HAS BEEN WELL-CARED FOR.
VG+: LESS CARE THAN EX, LIGHT SCRATCHING OR SCUFFING IS MORE EXTENSIVE. STILL VERY PLAYABLE & WILL LIKELY PROVIDE QUALITY SOUND.
VG & BELOW: WHILE PLAYABLE, THIS RECORD HAS BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK. OBVIOUS SIGNS OF WEAR & SHOULD BE CONSIDERED TO BE IN A LOW GRADE. A RECORD GRADED BELOW VG MAY HAVE A VALUE BASED UPON ITS RARITY OR UNIQUENESS.
