Artist: RED GARLAND
Title: “Red in Bluesville”
Label: PRESTIGE ~# PRST 7157. Stereo pressing on heavy vinyl. Label is black with silver text, with deep groove. Bergenfield, New Jersey address. “RVG STEREO” is stamped in the deadwax.
Year: 1959.

Condition:
DISC: Vinyl is EXCELLENT with full original gloss. Has been played a small number of times and handled with care. There are a couple slight hairline paper scuffs but no serious or audible marks. Plays beautifully with superb fidelity. Labels are clean.
JACKET: Jacket is EXCELLENT. Front panel is clean and glossy, with a bit of white scuffing along the bottom. Seams, spine, and corners are excellent. Reverse has a few faint marks at the upper left. Reverse has some light spotting along the top and at the bottom corner. No writing, stickers, or cutout indications. Overall a very fine jacket.

“Pianist Red Garland and his trio (with bassist Sam Jones and drummer Art Taylor) explore six veteran blues-based compositions ranging from Nellie Lutcher's "He's a Real Gone Guy" and "St. Louis Blues" to "Your Red Wagon" and Count Basie's "M-Squad (Theme)." Throughout, Garland modernizes each of the selections with his distinctive chord voicings, and he makes the songs sound fresh and new. A solid effort from this very consistent pianist, who will always be best remembered for his playing with the classic Miles Davis Quintet.”
