THIS LISTING INCLUDE 4 ALBUM TITLES FROM RED HOUSE PAINTERS
ALL NEW AND SEALED!

Out of print since its release in 1992, Down Colorful Hill is the much-praised debut album from Red House Painters. The introduction to the world of Mark Kozelek - “One of the finest artists of his generation” Stereogum - Down Colorful Hill comprises six tracks, all taken from the band’s original demo tape, catching the band at their rawest.
The second of the band’s eponymous albums of 1993 and with a bridge on the cover to give it it’s unofficial title, this set was shorter, collecting eight more tracks from the studio sessions the band embarked on upon signing to 4AD. Holding back signature classics like ‘Evil’, ‘Uncle Joe’ and ‘Blindfold’ for this record, it’s arguably the most experimental and darkest of their 4AD releases, reflecting the winter month it was released in. It’s also notable for containing the first “Kozeleked” cover versions, with ‘I Am A Rock’ and the ’Star Spangled Banner’ both getting his treatment.

Ocean Beach was originally released in 1995 and was to be the last record Red House Painters released on 4AD. Mostly performed by Mark on his own, the minimal, unornamented, reflective and semi-acoustic songs helped him to achieve the more personal album he aimed to record, capturing every sound as it happened. Out of print since, it’s now been reformatted to become a double 12” LP so to also include the four-track Shock Me EP of 1994.
Just one year on from their brilliant debut, Red House Painters were back with not one, but two albums. Both eponymously titled and released just months apart in 1993, the first of which was this ambitious double album. With a rollercoaster on the cover to give it it’s unofficial title, it’s now seen as one of Mark’s most realised collections, containing career highlights like ‘Grace Cathedral Park’, ‘Katy Song’ and ‘Mistress’.
