Description
Here is an original HALF SET of five of eight records by Brother J. F. Rutherford for the HISTORIC Convention talk entitled "Religion as a World Remedy" from the 1940 Convention in Detroit, Michigan and produced by Watchtower in 1940. In addition, on the last record is the special resolution talk "Statement and Resolution" given by Brother Max Freschel (later named Maxwell G. Friend) who was once a Gilead Instructor and a beloved member of the US Bethel Family. These Rutherford records were played in the door-to-door ministry by Jehovah's Witnesses using portable phonographs. Usually you have to find these records one at a time, here is a chance to get a complete set!
Records like these were featured in a short film "Knock Knock" on the September 2017 Broadcast.

Here is a little of what was said about Brother Maxwell G. Friend:
1983 Watchtower 6/1 p. 30 Graduating to a Higher Assignment
In the States he served as a translator, a traveling speaker and a director of Biblical dramas over radio station WBBR. In 1943 he became one of the founding instructors of Watchtower Bible School of Gilead at South Lansing, N.Y. For 17 years he served 34 classes, becoming endeared to over 3,600 missionary students. He taught Public Bible Speaking and Bible Research. During later years his voice became well known to thousands in the many convention dramas. He often spoke of some day “graduating” to his higher assignment to be with Christ in the heavenly Kingdom.—Revelation 14:13.
