This sale is for an album from the iconic alternative rock and pop band R.E.M. it is titled Eponymous and was released back in 1988 on I.R.S records.
This record is a classic from the band and is a must have album for any fan of the band or 1980s alt-rock.
This album is used as it is open and has been played. I do play test any open album that I list for sale
I am not a professional record dealer and I rate based on my eyes and ears. I do not rate by strict and official goldmine standards. I am familiar with them,and they are a guide to my ratings. However what I see and hear when I play test the album is how I will rate the album.
I will not sell any album that I would not be happy purchasing myself.
The vinyl is not mint but looks excellent and it’s very clean. There is only a very small amount of the snap crackle and pop or record noise you hear pretty much on all used and even some new vinyl records. In my opinion I think hearing just a tiny bit is part of why we like playing vinyl.
If you absolutely do not want any, buy a CD. There might be a fingerprint on it, but there are not any scratches or major scuffs on the vinyl. Honestly this album really looks like it’s hardly ever been played. I actually played it only once to test it. It sounds excellent and if you are an R.E.M you will love this record. When you hear it’s the end of the world, this musical Time Machine will take you back in your mind to when you first heard it.
I know how picky we vinyl addicts are, so I am fairly conservative in my rating of albums. I usually never rate any open and played album that I sell over VG+ just to be safe. However this one really is better than VG+ to my ears and eyes. So I will rate the vinyl on this LP as EX.
The cover and inserts are in great shape without any major scuffs or stains, tears, rips or major issues. There is just a tiny little bit of scuffing or rubbing on the edges of the outer spine and corners. You have to look close to notice it.
This is an album over 35 years old and it wasn’t stored in plastic all its life so it shows some of wear since the 1980s. However that being said it does look pretty good for its age.
Please look at the photos closely and if you have any questions or want more photos please ask before you decide to purchase it, not after. I want you sure of what you’re buying and satisfied with what you receive. I do welcome questions.
