Description

Up for auction a super rare promo copy of the R.E.M album The Reckoning, originally released in the U.S. on IRS Records (SP 70044) in 1984:
-Guaranteed original pressing, NOT reissue -STERLING mastering stamp in deadwax -Ultra rare gold translucent vinyl (see photo)
-Rare promo pressing with gold stamp on rear cover -Hype sticker on front cover -"File Under Water" printed on spine
-Original inner sleeve/insert -Vinyl comes in audiophile protective inner sleeve
Note: Some promo copies of this album came with this ultra rare gold translucent vinyl that can be seen only when it's backlit (see photo).  Very hard to find copies these days--one of the rarest early special R.E.M. pressings.

Condition: Cover looks very nice, no significant signs of wear, no ring wear, no seam splits.  Clean front and back, with only a hint of light rub here and there, nothing noticeable.  Spine has one small spot of cracking/crazing (see photo), not serious.  Very nicely preserved. Grade: Excellent (EX)
Vinyl also looks great, still retains its original glossy shine.  No obvious scratches or scuffs, but under strong light, a few very faint, superficial hairlines and tiny marks show up from taking the vinyl out of paper inner sleeve a few times.  Labels are clean, unmarked.  Looks like this record has maybe been played a couple times at most but handled with care.  Nice audio quality. Grade: Excellent (EX)
