REPRO 78- TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS CHARTED #25 IN 1965 & SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY - OTIS REDDING CHARTED #1 ON THE BILLBOARD TOP 40 IN 1968. Condition is "Used".
Although 'Try a Little Tenderness" only charted #25, it has been recognized as one of the all time greats. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has both of these songs on its list of "The 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll." It is in the 204th position on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. On this record, Dock of the Bay looks pristine. Try a Little Tenderness has some scratches. It was always on my jukebox. I just listened to the record and it still sounds great. It's one of the songs that makes this set a must have.
I bought this set new, so I know the history of the set. To my regret, I immediately sold off five records, so the colored vinyl set is not complete.
Atlantic Records was founded in 1947 and earned a reputation as an important American label specializing in jazz, R&B, and soul. Many Black artists important to the development of rock and roll got their start on Atlantic Records.
