Of all the endless number of recordings of Pines of Rome and Fountains of Rome that have been made, it is hard to pick one or two to acquire and keep. Well, look no further. This is by far and away the all-time greatest recording of these pieces, and I'm not the only one who thinks so. This beautiful album is one of the classic audiophile early stereo recordings ever, and to listen to it properly is an experience beyond describing.
To listen to it properly you need an original copy, like this one. The later pressings and the CD reissues are not at all the same thing. Also you need to have a perfect or almost perfect copy, as there are a lot of quiet parts which are ruined by crackles and pops. Even a VG+ copy or E are not good enough. You need M or NM.
So here you are! This copy is BEAUTIFUL! I would call it mint but it has been played and has some signs of handling, but it isn't worn or damaged in any way. This record is as near perfect mint as you will see without finding a sealed copy. And it sounds unbelievable...
The cover, however, has a seam split along the spine (see photo). That is the only flaw on this record. A truly beautiful copy that will be hard to beat.
