THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD OST "Picture Disc" TWO TEST ACETATES 1985
THIS IS THE ONLY SET OF ITS KIND. I worked at Enigma Records in 1984/1985 and worked on choosing and organizing the music for the soundtrack to this seminal zombie movie. I just found this set of acetates in the stacks in my loft. When I added dialogue from the film between the music tracks for the picture disc release I had these acetates cut so I could listen before we committed to going to press. This acetate is slightly better than the official release because the lockgroove at the end of side one has the word "Brains!" repeated perfectly. When the official version was cut the engineer cut off the end of the word "Brains" and he didn't have time in his schedule to do it over.
There are two large ticks in the opening bit of diaogue on side one and another tick when Trash is talking before the SSQ track. Otherwise both acetates sound perfect. Please realize that the sound quality of acetates can diminish if played too often. I found this page on the subject here:
