REVENGE from Canada strikes back and the 6th full lenght studio album is again a middle finger to all who criticise this kind of music or don't even recognise it as music in the first place. Including a break that consists only of grunts. So everything as always in the house of REVENGE. ''Strike. Smother. Dehumanize'' is like a roller coaster and you get on, even though from the outside it doesn't seem quite safe and at the same time a storm clouds are gathering. The crazy tempo changes of the 10 tracks shake you mightily, the groove presses you back into your seat, blast beats feel like poison arrows of a surprising downpour, partly appearing above as below and vice versa. All this should truly only be given to people who can basically do something with War Metal. Otherwise the safety bar opens and the wild ride quickly turns into a crash landing. For everyone else, it's probably the familiar principle. In the end it was so cool that you want to do it again. But REVENGE don't care about all that anyway. The Canadians don't intend to change their style anyway, which lives from headbanging moments and several well entertaining ideas that act far away from any convention. Besides, the aim is to destroy humanity musically, so who cares about opinions? There was one small development, however, ''Strike. Smother. Dehumanize'' has a slightly different sound, slightly clearer compared to the creaky past, without sounding inorganic. Comes in pitch black vinyl, limited to only 350 copies & with 16-page LP booklet.
