Description
For auction here is a UK copy of Revolver by The Beatles on the yellow and black Parlophone label. This is a UK MONO 1st pressing from 1966 with a catalogue number PMC 7009. The labels on this pressing has the track titles written in the much harder to find Times New Roman typeface.
Visually I would grade the vinyl as VG+. There are a few minor wispy lines and scuff marks but no heavy feelable marks. I have played it through and although there was very little noticeable background noise, there was some minor distortion throughout. Not sure whether this is a bad pressing or maybe a professional clean may cure this. The vinyl lies flat and there were no skips or sticks, just the odd isolated light pop in a couple of places. The vinyl grades as VG.
The matrix numbers are:
Side 1 - XEX 605-2 4GAH
Side 2 - XEX 606-2 7HM
The labels are EX with no writing, tears. There is light spindle wear.
The front laminated flipback cover is in EX condition. There is some surface wear on the bottom edge but apart from that the edges are sound with no wear and the spine is 100% legible. There is no writing or tears, a very clean example.
The tracing lined Emitex inner sleeve is in VG+ condition with no writing or tears just some creasing.
Not the best listening copy of this LP, but it does have the rare TNR label typeface and very nice cover.
