Description
RICK SPRINGFIELD
Eleanor Rigby
1973 U.S 10" ACETATE
RECORDED AND CUT AT CRYSTAL STUDIOS, HOLLYWOOD, CA.
CONDITION IS EX (light playing and a couple of marks not really effecting play)
Using the template of what was the huge Australian hit for Rick's band in Australia called the Zoot in 1970, it was decided to do it again once on U.S soil. This time with Rick also handling the vocals, pretty much using Darryl Cotton's vocals as a guide. This was never released back then and to this day.
Words from the man hisself....
"Ha yes I did a version for Columbia in around 73 but they hated the record so they never released it. They thought they were getting the next David Cassidy but the record was pretty full on 70's rock/pop. We put a real pipe organ on it too (long before samples) Recorded at Crystal Studios in Hollywood and that acetate was also cut at Crystal. They had their own cutting room"
