You are bidding on THE  ORIGINAL EARLIEST UK 1st Pressing (1U//1U Matrix) of Ringo Starr's debut LP;  'Sentimental Journey'! Being a True 1st Press, it has the correct 1U//1U Matrix and the 1st press laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Sleeve - this rare record is in superb condition throughout ! The cool 1960's thick and chunky 1st press vinyl is in superb condition! As you probably know, this record didn't exactly set the world on fire, and as such only sold in relatively small amounts, hence they very rarely turn up anymore and when they do, they are usually trashed and un-listenable. However this one is not - it is a superb example of a very rare record! Please see below for detailed description.

Please check our other auctions for more very rare 1st press records and don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.

Dead Wax info:

Side 1 - YEX 771-1U

Side 2 - YEX 772-1U

This is an exceptional example of this rare earliest UK 1st pressing. The Classic Dark Apple 1st Pressing centre labels are also in superb condition! They have NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Scribbles, NO rubbing and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! They have only the lightest traces of spindle lines on either side! The gramophone rims containing the all important 1st Press matrix's are mint!!! The vinyl itself is in stunning condition! It has that glass-like sheen of a record that has been played only a handful of times ever and has none of the dull groove wear commonly seen on these old Beatles-related Apple records. It has NO Scratches, NO Scuffs, NO Groove-wear and NO warping - if held up close to a window you are just able to make out just ONE wispy hairline on side 1 and other than paper lines that's it!!! The record still retains ALL its original gloss and shine and has NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves!!!  For a UK 1st Press to look & play like this is very rare!!!   The thick quality pressed chunky vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!) This record easily grades as Excellent even by my own strict grading standards (most would grade it a solid Mint or Nr Mint). The classic 1st Press fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in superb condition. These do just not turn up anymore, and on the rare occasions that they do, it is NEVER in this condition, they are usually battered, worn, ripped, torn and quite often scribbled on. This one is not! It is in absolutely beautiful condition with NO Tears, NO Rips and NO unwanted writing or scribbles! It retains all its stiffness and flatness and there are NO Seam Splits and virtually NO seam wear! The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT and also has virtually NO RING WEAR! There is some feathering of the opening edge. It has a strong spine with MINT legible spine text .The laminate is well preserved with no cracking or lifting. This sleeve easily grades as Excellent at the very least - a superb example.

I have tried to show you the record from all angles - there's nothing to hide!!! If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help.

I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Beat/Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition, many having 3 figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK, most with a £2.99 start and No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment since purchase!

We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
