RITA STREICH 'CRADLESONGS and FOLKSONGS' 1963 STEREO LP.

RITA STREICH, Soprano.

First pressing released on Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft 136 462 SLPEM.

First press with the 'RED TAB' Stereo logo on the front of the sleeve.

When tilted under normal lighting side 1 appears to be unmarked except for a small [0.5cm] scratch in band 3. Side 2 also appears to be unmarked except for a light scratch across band 1.

Under halogen lights side 1 has just a few more short, light marks visible and side 2 appears to have no more marks.

Play grades as EX-. 

No sticks or jumps and mostly and all musical passages and vocals play clearly & brightly. 

The small scratch in band 3, side 1 gives a light 'click' on each revolution and that at the beginning of side 2 also gives a light 'click' on each revolution. Otherwise both sides have just a few isolated places where there are 'tics'/'light clicks' in 2s & 3s.

Sleeve grades as VG.

Has sellotape residue along the opening edges which I think was taped to stop an open tear, [~ 2cm. long] in the middle of both sides of the opening, from spreading. The tape has been removed at some point.

Also has the lyrics printed on the rear in German.

Inner grades as EX.

Insert with lyrical texts in German & English grades as EX.

I dispatch records in brand new, bought in mailers designed for the process. Before placing in the mailer I take LPs out of the sleeve place both in a polysleeve and between two card stiffeners and if there is a picture sleeve I place the LP in a plain sleeve to prevent knifing of the picture sleeve. [all this costs £0.80/single LP].

I USE RECORD COLLECTOR GRADINGS AND USE A +/- WHERE I FEEL THAT IT'S APPROPRIATE.

(M) MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or unplayed should be mint.

(EX) EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of being played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging may have slight wear and/or creasing.

(VG) VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

(G) GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

(F) FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

(P) POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

(B) BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.  

I normally ship within 1/2 working days of receipt of payment.
