Description
Rko Radio Networks – TIDL-101/130 - Distributed by TM Productions - 30 LP with 30 Cue Sheets for each LP - 1983 - USA
CONDITION IN DETAIL, STRICTLY GRADED
I am the original owner of this item and it has been stored in a smoke free, low humidity, controlled environment.
LP’s - E - Excellent condition. The Lp’s look unplayed but probably were aired sparingly in accordance with the 11 pages of annotated/corrected original Cue Sheets. The worst (hour 22 LP) but wholly insignificant spindle issue is shown in the photos.
RECORD SLEEVES - E - Excellent condition
See the photos to verify the following:
CUE SHEETS - There are no tears, folds or creases. Some sheets have yellowed due to 40 years of aging. Eleven sheets have been annotated and scribbled on with many corrections. The others have no marks at all.
OUTER SHIPPING BOX - Worn! But still together with the help of some scotch tape.
CONTENTS, INFORMATION, ETC,
According to the labels and stamps on the box this unit was shipped out on March 7, 1983. It is likely an earlier pressing as there were no corrected cue sheets included (DJ’s had to make their own corrections) and it was shipped from NY to Georgia to California and then back to Georgia again according to an older postmark under the newest postmark.
PRESS RELEASE FROM 1981 by TM PRODUCTIONS
There was a press release accompanying the set from TM Productions at the time of the airing in 1981 and subsequent release in 1983. It says:
"The Beatles: The Days In Their Life" is a 30-hour chronological study of the band that did more to change the scope of popular music than any other force of the 1960's.
During the first 24 hours of the special, every song ever recorded by The Beatles is played, including several numbers never released. Because the producers have gained access to the original EMI masters, some songs previously heard only in mono are now in stereo.
The final 6 hours of the show trace the direction each of The Beatles took after the band dis-banded in December 1970. All information is completely up-to-date as of the date of release in 1981.
The Beatles: The Days In Their Life, includes hundreds of interviews with The Beatles themselves and their associates, many of which have never been heard.
While The Beatles: The Days In Their Life is 30 hours long and is designed to run as a blockbuster, the show may also be stripped into one-hour segments if so desired.”
The Beatles: The Days In Their Life is a 30 LP set and comes with cue sheets for each LP.”
This is a pretty rare interview set. The records are all almost in near mint condition. The cue sheets are in nice shape and the eleven pages of handwritten corrections and annotations are an inside look into the workings of radio station disc jockeys.
