Description
Purchased USED in the Dixon, Illinois Record Store in the mid 1980's. Always attracted to PROMOTIONAL COPIES. Put in a PLASTIC ALBUM BAG when I got it home. Could of been played before I bought it but don't know and don't know how many times.
Cover is in great shape with no ring wear. Gold PROMO stamp on front top center. Edges and spline are in nice shape. One tiny knick on bottom edge and two tiny knicks on top edge. Lettering is very close to center on spline. Front bottom right corner and back top right corners(see pictures) have a slight "rumple" to them.
Album inner sleeve is plastic and has a lot of creasing.
Vinyl has some surface scuffs and I noticed a very light "pressing blister" on Side One of Track 3 but it is very small and should play okay. I have maybe played this once when purchased but I can't remember from 40 years ago. Vinyl does look pretty good.

Robyn Rowan Hitchcock is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. While primarily a vocalist and guitarist, he also plays harmonica, piano, and bass guitar. After leading the Soft Boys in the late 1970s and releasing the influential Underwater Moonlight, in June 1980, Hitchcock launched a prolific solo career.
Hitchcock's earliest lyrics mined a rich vein of English surrealist comic tradition and tended to depict a particular type of eccentric and sardonic English worldview. His music and performance style was influenced by Bob Dylan, and by the English folk music revival of the 1960s and early 1970s. This was soon filtered through a then-unfashionable psychedelic rock lens during the punk rock and new wave music eras of the late 1970s and early 1980s.This combination of musical styles won Hitchcock's band of the time, The Soft Boys, an enthusiastic if small fanbase. However, the Soft Boys' final album together, Underwater Moonlight, posthumously earned them a glowing reputation (particularly in America) as a major influence on bands like R.E.M.
In 1984, he formed a new band, The Egyptians, comprising former members of the Soft Boys (Andy Metcalfe and Morris Windsor, supplemented at first by early keyboardist Roger Jackson), resulting in their 1985 debut Fegmania!, which featured typically surrealist Hitchcock songs such as "My Wife and My Dead Wife" and "The Man with the Lightbulb Head".
