Description

For auction is the highly revered and sought-after 78 r.p.m. record "ROCKET 88" by Jackie Brenston on Chess Records from 1951.   Regarded to be the first rock 'n roll record by most collectors.  First black record to be played on "pop radio".  Recorded by Sam Phillips at Memphis Recording Studio (Sun Records) in 1951. 

Record is graded at a strong VG Plus.  Label on both sides are outstanding, free of writing and stains.  Record has normal scuffing for a 65-year-old and plays great.  Do not miss out on this rare piece of "rock 'n roll history".
