SIXTO RODRIGUEZ-COLD FACT (1970, Sussex)
Condition of Cover: EX-, minor EW.
Condition of Record: Visual VG, played great for me VG+ on my turntable with minimal noise, using a Gemini turntable and Grado cartridge.
Additional Information: Original. SXBS 7000.
Comments: INCREDIBLE and IN DEMAND blend of folk psych soul funk by this legendary artist, recently rediscovered through the documentary film "Sugar Man." Rodriguez was relatively ignored in the US, but was popular overseas in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. His very deep lyrical content explores topics such as social inequality, economic issues, street culture, relationships, and much more. Lyrics to the songs on the back side of the cover. Dennis Coffey plays some guitar on here. Produced by Mike Theodore and Dennis Coffey. Virtually every track on here is a winner. If I didn't already have a copy, I'd never sell this! Grading Scale: My grading scale is as follows:
SEALED, M-, NM, NM-, EX+, EX, EX-, VG+, VG, VG-, G+. I do not sell anything lower than G+. My records are visually and play graded to check for accuracy. My VG+ should have little to no surface noise according to my turntable using a Grado cartridge, and my EX gradings are equivalent to Goldmine's VG++ grading, just more descriptive within the grading spectrum of VG++. My M- is open unplayed. My NM and NM- gradings are reserved for items opened once and played. I generally default to VG if the cover has any noticeable ringwear, surface wear, or seam splits.
