Roger Taylor : Happiness? (Limited Edition No 0409)

This original 1994 black vinyl limited edition pressing is in wonderful condition and a full audio grading is given below.  This has a relatively low number of 409 and the cover and lyric inner are also in superb shape.

Visual grading

The vinyl is visually stunning with only a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines and a couple of minor marks on S1.  It retains a lovely glossy sheen and has been hardly played if at all.  There were some vinyl flecks around the spindle hole which supports this opinion.

Play grading  

S1 has very impressive audio and plays as Mint- for the vast majority apart from minor interference - there is a small amount of static on the 'Happiness' piano intro, a couple of pops at the start of 'Revelations' and a further couple of clicks about one minute in on 'Freedom Train'.  This limited edition vinyl was known to be have some sound issues on its release and apart from that stated the audio is immaculate and has obviously been rarely played.  In essence approx 98% plays as Mint!  'Foreign Sand' for example plays with stunning audio from start to finish.

From 'You Had To Be There' S2 has incredible audio quality through to the final track 'Old Friends'.  There is no interference on this side and the clarity and depth of the sound could not be better.  In all honesty this plays 'as new' and I don't think I have heard this album play better.  Mighty fine for nearly 25 years old!

Cover

At first glance it appears to be like new but on closer inspection you can see a couple of minor creases and minor (and I mean minor!) wear on a couple of corners.  The edges and spine are in superlative condition and there are no marks anywhere.  The low limited edition number 0409 can be seen on the back cover.

Lyric inner

This is in near perfect condition with no splits or marking, just one tiny corner rub.

The labels

They are both super clean with no marking or spindle wear.  I even detected some vinyl flecks around the spindle hole when I first put it on the turntable confirming that it has been hardly played if at all.

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers

This record has been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
