Roger Waters : The Pros And Cons Of Hitch Hiking A2/B1 1st Press
This very collectable first pressing plays with stunning quality on both sides with no interference. I know that is hard to believe for an album with so many quiet sections but I have play tested it in full and the clarity is just exceptional throughout. Ok I picked 3/4 very light ticks and just a hint of mega light static at the start of S2 but it does not qualify as interference! The vinyl is visually stunning and has obviously hardly ever been on a turntable - I would say it has been played three maybe four times at most, the audio is crystal clear. This is in my opinion another FINAL UPGRADE album in my opinion.
The cover is in lovely condition with hardly any wear and the original black inner has also been extremely well preserved.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in beautiful condition with a stunning jet-black glossy sheen and it has no marks or scratches. At first look you would think it was pressed only yesterday! I also cannot see any hairlines either and only on very close inspection can I see a small number of very faint 'specks' on S2. There is no groove wear and the labels are super clean with only a couple of barely visible spindle traces on each. A superb near perfect example!
Play grading
The 'intro' on S1 has barely any static and then 'Apparently They Were Travelling Abroad' plays with stunning clarity for such a quiet track. There is no interference and only a handful of barely audible dust ticks. A Mint version for sure.
The powerful opening vocal section on 'Running Shoes' plays with great power and definition and then the first quiet verse is nigh on perfect with just a couple of seconds of very light static at the start. The remainder is faultless including the final quiet verse. Mint-
'Arabs With Knives...' and 'For The First Time Today - Part 2' both play with exceptional audio and again there is no background. The clarity is akin to what you would find on a new vinyl not one that is 38 years old! Mint
'Sexual Revolution' plays with STUNNING audio from start to finish and that includes the quieter mid section which does not even have a single dust tick. Again I have no hesitation in grading this as Mint such is the sonic quality on offer here.
'The Remains Of Our Love' ends the side with perfect (and I do mean perfect!) audio from the first groove to the last with no interference. The super quiet end section is faultless and Mint is is again deserved. A stunning side of music!

S2 begins with a stunning rendition of 'Go Fishing' - the acoustic intro has only a small number of dust ticks and the opening vocal plays perfectly. It continues in the same way with no intrusion and if the intro is Near Mint then the rest is Mint without doubt.
'For The First Time Today - Part 1' plays beautifully with only a couple of dust ticks. Again for the majority this is such a quiet number and so the clarity is very impressive. Mint-
'Dunroamin...' is 'as new' from beginning to end. This is Mint in every way.
'The Pros And Cons Of Hitch Hiking' plays with a clarity, power and definition of the highest calibre. There are no negatives, not one iota of interference, and is Mint through every section.
'Every Strangers Eyes' has no background aside from one very light tick. The 'high octane' section has no distortion and this grades as Mint-
'The Moment Of Clarity' ends the album with...perfect clarity. Had to say it! Another quiet track and yet the playback is exceptional on so many levels. The clarity and depth of the audio is incredible - I mean there are even a couple of silent sections here and yet there is not so much as a dust tick! Mint
In summary this first pressing plays with outstanding audio with no interference. Another FINAL UPGRADE album with only 3/4 light ticks? The sonic quality really cannot be faulted and this is without question the finest example of this LP that I heard in many a year. Not surprising in a way when consider the visual quality. There are of course so many quiet sections and yet they all play with unbelievable clarity. A STUNNING album.
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The cover is in great condition with very little shelf wear. The edges are close to perfect with barely any rubbing and the wide spine is in fantastic shape with no real wear on the corners. The right hand corners have next to no wear and the opening edge is pristine. The front cover is very clean with only a few faint spots that you can only see when you hold it at a certain angle and the back cover is in superb condition with just one very small faint scratch line near the top edge. The inside of the gatefold is unmarked 'as new' you could say. A stunning example overall.
The original poly-lined black inner sleeve is in superb shape with only minor creasing.
Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable // B & W 684 Speakers
This record has been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
