THE ROLLING STONES '''AFTERMATH'''

1st UK PRESSING WITH THE ORIGINAL GROOVED UNBOXED DECCA LABELS UNBELIEVABLY RARE EARLIEST MONO PRESSING ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION! CAT NO. LK4786 (MONO) WITH ORIGINAL SUPERBE ROBERT STACE COVER AND AWESOME VINYL (NO) AUDIO MARKS OR SCRATCHES THAT WOULD CAUSE ANY LOUD CLICKS OR POPS! RARELY EVER SEEN FOR SALE LIKE THIS!

LOOK EARLIEST "1"to"1" MOTHER STAMPERS ON BOTH SIDES! (Earliest For The Best Audio Quality)

Another from my personal collection of  over 50,00 albums that I have accumulated over a period of more than 45 years or more. This is an astounding sounding copy of The Rolling Stones Aftermath 1966 original mono UK pressing! Look with the earliest "1" to "1" Mother stampers on both sides. Earliest stampers produce the best and most vibrant audio quality available on vinyl in my opinion and the mono originals can not be beaten in any other format available. This is complete with the original Decca poly lined sleeve without slits or tears and the original laminated front only Robert Stace cover. There is light general wear and tear with age on the cover and is graded excellent but it is clean and straight without splits or tears. Listen to the comlete Audio quality in the player below. In my opinion it is so clean and vibrant compared to later pressings which are bland in comparison a lovely sounding copy with the earliest "1" to "1" mother stampers. Very Near mint Audio through out! (Any interference is very minimal only)

A rare original 1st Press Mono audio Archive Copy!

Listen to the complete album in the player above. Actual recording from the vinyl.

Aftermath is the fourth UK and sixth US studio album by The Rolling Stones and was released in 1966. The album proved to be a major artistic breakthrough for The Rolling Stones in that it was the first full-length release by the band to exclusively feature Mick Jagger/Keith Richards compositions.

The album is also notable for its musical experimentation, with Brian Jones - possibly inspired by George Harrisons use of sitar on The Beatles' Rubber Soul - playing a variety of instruments which feature prominently in each track, including the sitar on "Paint It Black", and the dulcimer on "Lady Jane" and "I Am Waiting".

Once again, two editions of the album were released. The first release of Aftermath appeared in April of 1966 as a fourteen-track long-player, and is considered by many to be the definitive version. Issued between the non-LP single releases of "19th Nervous Breakdown" and "Paint It, Black", Aftermath proved a big smash, spending eight weeks atop the UK charts.

In the US however, fourteen tracks was considered too many. With a substituted cover art, the American edition of Aftermath, released that June, features a subtly re-shuffled running order that eliminates "Out Of Time", "Take It Or Leave It" and "What To Do" (all later released in the US), while replacing "Mother's Little Helper" with current #1 hit "Paint It, Black". Despite compromising producer Andrew Loog Oldham's and The Rolling Stones' intentions for the album, the revamped Aftermath shot to #2 in the US, eventually going platinum. In 2002, the US edition of Aftermath was ranked number 108

  1. "Mother's Little Helper" – 2:45
  2. "Stupid Girl" – 2:55
  3. "Lady Jane" – 3:08
  4. "Under My Thumb" – 3:41
  5. "Doncha Bother Me" – 2:41
  6. "Going Home" – 11:13
  7. "Flight 505" – 3:27
  8. "High and Dry" – 3:08
  9. "Out of Time" – 5:37
  10. "It's Not Easy" – 2:56
  11. "I Am Waiting" – 3:11
  12. "Take It or Leave It" – 2:47
  13. "Think" – 3:09
  14. "What to Do" – 2:32

The vinyl

On initial visual inspection it is hard for me to see a blemish on the playing surface, minor scuffs or marks that I can see when looking hard in strong light are very small dots only in one place, any other marks would be sleeve removal type only,, importantly nothing that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops during the play of this vinyl! This lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping! This is the original thicker and deeper grooved type of vinyl only found on original early pressings later pressings were much more flimsier and less robust. . I can ( not) see any nasty needle scratches or marks that would effect the play that would cause any nasty constant clicks or pops! In my opinion this vinyl looks like it has had just very minimal play only and certainly not been overplayed at all.

The Audio Quality

I have played this vinyl as usual three time at very loud volume on a top system and importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge. The audio is awesome, cristal clear and vibrant all of the way through, Please note I heard (no) loud annoying constant clicks or pops during the play of this vinyl and also quite amaizing to find (no) background noise which is so common on these early 50 year old pressings! This is so rare to find like this and in this condition. The audio on this very rare vinyl will be hard to surpass and I rate this audio at the top on all frequencies! (Listen to my sample recording of the complete vinyl in the player above.)

There is (no) loud clicks pops certainly (no) jumps or skips or any signs of grooveware or that this vinyl has been overplayed at all! I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to very near mint throughout.  The audio is so vibrant, beautiful sounding copy.

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! That I have given my honest opinion when describing the audio quality of this vinyl. and have played it through track for track. Although i never heard any major problems what so ever, Please allow for the odd static tick here and there (not) consistant through out the audio! Remember this is an original (not) a reissue that is 45 years old and would have been played on a system that is 45 years old! Please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!

The audio is graded at the top! Excellent plus to Very Near Mint on mt systems. Listen to the complete lp in the player above.

The Labels,

These are the original ''unboxed'' DECCA labels with the familier groove! In absolutely superbe condition with (no) nasty names written on them. Spidering can be seen in strong light barely any on side 1 there are some feint wider spidering on side 2, but in my opinion this has just had very minimal play only for a 45 year old Rolling Stones record. (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round an excellent example rarely seen like this! Made in England is featured (only UK press) and k.t. tax code stamped on both sides at 12 oclock to the matrix (only 1st press)

The Matrix

Side 1. XARL 7209-6B side 2. XARL 7210-3A

The record Sleeve.

This is the original Decca poly lined sleeve with (no) splits or tares just light general browning with age and light creasings but overall in super condition! and original!

The cover

Printed by Robert Stace 1st issue laminated front only cover.  This is clean and tidy with light general storage wear only. The laminate is glossy in appearance.

(No) edge splits or tares. There are light laminate creases on the front. note one crease bottom left corner and minor half moon creases to mention.  There is some light laminate lifting at the spine end seen angled to the light.  The corners are lovely and square. The rear is exceptionaly clean with only the lightest of browning with age only. (no) edgeware scuffing and even more amazing the writing can be clearly seen! (see photos) I would grade this cover at excellent in my opinion.

In my opinion this very rare and sought after album will be hard to surpass and being the rarest in (mono) makes this album even more desirable!
