Description

THE ROLLING STONES - AFTERMATH

A nice copy of this increasingly hard to find 1966 UK 1st press Stones' classic - still a great listen

Year/Label : 1966 UK DECCA  Label number : LK 4786 Matrix numbers :  XARL-7209-4B, XARL-7210-6A Stampers : 1 HM  /  1 1G  (the "HM" is very difficult to male out, could be HM, 11, 1.1 or any combination thereof!)
Very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl - weighty, completely flat and retaining a nice jet black lacquered sheen and in daylight comes across as excellent. Closer inspection under a bright light reveals a few very light scuff lines on each side along with some very fine hairlines - all are non-feelable and appear to be superficial but do result in the very occasional and very light click and some occasional, intermittent light background crackle but certainly nothing nasty or obviously intrusive.  The labels are excellent with some very small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label being the only blemishes.   Very good (VG) condition front-side laminated Robert Stace outer sleeve with largely firm and unscuffed edges including the spine where all spine text remains nicely intact. Each corner remains a near perfectly defined right angle with just a little mild rubbing on each, the opening edges are firm with no fraying, and all colours, art work, and text remain nicely intact with very good definition still. The blemishes are the occasional 1cm surface laminate crease adjacent and perpendicular to the spine and bottom edge on the front side, a tiny spine cut 1cm from the top of the spine, some laminate and light cardboard creasing on the front side towards the top left and bottom left corners, a small area of discolouration on the front side towards the top right corner/side edge, and a number of light handling/storage marks on the reverse side along with some discolouration towards the reverse side edges. Do take a close look at my photos. Very good plus (VG+) mono sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, or distortion and any background crackle is at a absolute minimum - just the hint of some background crackle during some of the quieter moments and slightly more noticeable rotational crackle during the first 30 seconds of side 2.  Nonetheless, still impressive  tone and clear mono audio with every track remaining a great listen.  Comes with original and very good plus condition poly-lined "USE EMITEX" inner sleeve with no splits, tears, edge fraying, or obvious  age discolouration but there is some mild creasing. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.    A lovely copy of this 1977 Stones classic stereo re-issue with the impressive stereo sound quality being a true highlight.
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits.
