The Rolling Stones

Aftermath

UK 1st Pressing

Ultra Rare 1st Press

Purple Shadow sleeve

LK 4786

1966

Here we have one of the rarest Rolling stones records ever!!!

This is the very first pressing of the Aftermath record, with the unboxed deep crimson red grooved Decca labels and the ULTRA RARE!!!! purple tinted shadow sleeve.

The shadow to the aftermath text was limited to only the very very first pressings of the sleeve!!! and was quickly replaced with standard non-shadow text that we all know.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own this super rare very 1st Press LP

Matrix Numbers

Side 1 XARL-7209 1B

Side 2 XARL-7210 5A

The A at the end of the matrix refers to Guy Fletcher, and the B refers to Ron Mason. These were the Decca engineers who oversaw the pressing of each side!!!!

 Sleeve

The front laminated Robert Stace Ltd shadow sleeve is in VERY GOOD++ condition!!! There is NO writing on the sleeve, No rips or tears, No stains. There is some slight laminate lift and some light creases to the front, with some very very mild ring wear and some very light ageing to the rear. This is very common with unlaminated rears. The sleeve is in great condition!!!  Even to find a first press in such good condition would be a rarity, but the VERY first WITHDRAWN press is a once in a lifetime opportunity!! The spine is perfectly straight and clearly legible and the rare shadow text sits perfectly with all the colour and sheen you would want from such a rare sleeve.....VERY GOOD++ condition

Inner

Original white with blue text inner has no rips or tears. A bit of mild folding and the slightest discolouring to one edge but otherwise in EXCELLENT+++ condition

Labels

The iconic unboxed deep crimson red grooved Decca labels are in really nice condition, with no rips, tears or stains at all!! Under a strong halogen lamp you can see only 3 or 4 very faint spindle marks!!! but it is clear to see that this record has not been played very much at all, which is such a rarity with any original Rolling Stones record!! There is no writing at all......as near as MINT!!! condition

Vinyl

By the naked eye there are no scratches to be seen at all. The record looks as near as MINT!!! condition it really does. It still retains its wonderful factory pressed shine and lustre. Under a strong halogen lamp. There are NO scratches and NO marks or blemishes!!!Only the odd very tiny faint line is visible!!!!  It really is an astounding looking vinyl, that won’t disappoint The record is heavy and thick!!!! and is in as near as MINT!!! condition

Possibly the rarest withdrawn Rolling Stones records EVER!!!!!!

A True Rarity!!
