· ROLLING STONES - BETWEEN THE BUTTONS - ORIGINAL 1967 LONDON RECORDS MONO LP LL-3499
· ORIGINAL U.S. PRESSING
· ORIGINAL MAROON (DARK-RED) LONDON MONO LABEL WITH “BOXED” (FRAMED) LONDON LOGO AND SILVER PRINT
· TRACK LISTING: THIS IS A U.S. VERSION OF THE ALBUM, WITH SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT TRACK SELECTION THAN THE U.K. VERSION: THE U.S. VERSION OF THE ALBUM PLAYS "LET’S SPEND THE NIGHT TOGETHER” AND “RUBY TUESDAY” INSTEAD OF "BACK STREET GIRL” AND “PLEASE GO HOME” WHICH ARE FOUND ON U.K. VERSION).
· THIS IS THE ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC, FIRST U.S. PRESSING; THIS IS NOT A REISSUE, AN IMPORT, OR A COUNTERFEIT PRESSING.
· ORIGINAL, THICK CARDBOARD COVER (AMERICAN STYLE)
· COVER HAS A NIFTY “ZIPPER” STICKER, STILL AFFIXED TO THE WRAP.
· CLEAN, WEAR-FREE LABELS
· THICK, HEAVY VINYL PRESSING
· IF THIS IS OF ANY RELEVANCE, THE ALBUM INCLUDES THE SONG “COMPLICATED” FEATURED IN THE RECENT LEXMARK COMMERCIAL.
· THE RECORD HAS 'AUDIOMATRIX' STAMP (BARELY VISIBLE) IN THE TRAIL-OFF VINYL (DEAD WAX) AREA, WHICH IS GENERALLY CONSIDERED A PROOF OF AUTHENTICITY OF THE FIRST PRESSING.
· DATE STAMP OF 12-27-1966 (YES, 1966 !) HAND-ETCHED IN THE TRAIL-OFF VINYL (DEAD WAX) OF THE RECORD. THIS IS STRANGE BECAUSE THE ALBUM IS USUALLY THOUGHT OF AS RELEASED IN 1967!
· MONO version of this album has NEVER been available on legitimate Compact Disc or in any other way, manner or format.

The Rolling Stones' 1967 recordings are a matter of some controversy; many critics felt that they were compromising their raw, rootsy power with trendy emulations of the Beatles, Kinks, Dylan, and psychedelic music. Approach this album with an open mind, though, and you'll find it to be one of their strongest, most eclectic LPs, with many fine songs that remain unknown to all but Stones devotees. The lyrics are getting better (if more savage), and the arrangements more creative, on brooding near-classics like "All Sold Out," "My Obsession," and "Yesterday's Papers." "She Smiled Sweetly" shows their hidden romantic side at its best, while "Connection" is one of the record's few slabs of conventionally driving rock. But the best tracks were the two songs that gave the group a double-sided number one in early 1967: the lustful "Let's Spend the Night Together" and the beautiful, melancholy "Ruby Tuesday," which is as melodic as anything Mick Jagger and Keith Richards would ever write.
(EXCERPT FROM AN ONLINE REVIEW BY RICHIE UNTERBERGER, ALL MUSIC GUIDE /ALLMUSIC.COM/)
For its extraordinary contribution to the contemporary music, superb production, craftsmanship, fine musicianship, revolutionary significance and influence it exerted on numerous generations of musicians, songwriters and general public, or for some other inherent quality, this album was voted one of top-200 albums of all time in one of the largest poll of critics, music reviewers, show business professionals and producers ever organized: the poll, which was conducted by Paul Gambaccini, the legendary BBC Radio A&R man, surveyed more than 50 top music professionals (including Roy Carr, Jonathan Cott, Robert Christgau, Cameron Crowe, Chet Flippo, Ben Fong-Torres, Charlie Gillett, Greil Marcus, Murray the K., Lenny Kaye, Bruce Morrow (a/k/a "Cousin Brucie"), Tim Rice , Lisa Robinson, Robert Shelton, Ed Ward, Joel Whitburn, Pete Wingfield, etc.). · CONDITION:
· RECORD
(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)
(a) WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG VG++, just a notch below NEAR MINT. A few light abrasions (probably just sleeve scuffs inflicted in storage over the years) ARE VISIBLE, but they appear fairly insignificant relative to the overall condition of the vinyl, and are only moderately visually distracting. For most part, the vinyl looks impeccable, without any MAJOR visual flaws or imperfections. Much of the original luster is intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.
(b) The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.
(c) The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!
(d) Mono pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its stereo counterpart. We think that the mix is more natural, humane, "organic" and that the mixes are somewhat different than on the stereo version. We estimate that stereo copies of this album outnumber mono pressings by a ratio of at least 5:1.
(e) Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
· COVER
THE COVER IS STILL IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP; HOWEVER, WE ARE UNABLE TO GRADE IT NEAR MINT DUE TO MINOR FLAWS LISTED BELOW; WE GRADE THIS COVER AS EXCELLENT OR VG++ (A SMALL PIECE OF SHRINK WRAP IS MISSING)
The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:
- Cover has a partially split bottom seam (between 2 and 4 inches / 5 to 10 centimeters)
- Cover shows some yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.
- Cover has some fraying/wear along the lower seam
- Cover has a small, neat, circular cutout hole in one of the corners
- Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 2.
- Cover has some tiny, faint writing on its back side (a microscopic price code written in one corner)
- Cover has a tiny "wrinkle" (crease) in one of the corners.
NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:
- No cut-out corners
- No saw-marks or indents
- No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)
- No writing
- No stamps
- No peel-off marks
- No stains
- No mold or mildew spots
- No stickers or labels
- No water damage
- No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or cuts.
- No warping
- No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover
