I've been going thru my massive vinyl record collection this winter and pulling out some LPs that I thought that someone else would want for their collection. I've been collecting records for over 40 years and it's time to pass some of them on to the next generation of collectors.
This week on EBay I am offering up this fantastic, clean copy of the classic Rolling Stones 'Collector' album "Claudine".
This is my original copy from the early 80's that I purchased back when it was 'new' and that I've taken great care of for many years.

This is a great 'Collector' record featuring outtakes and alternate versions of songs from around the time period of the 'Some Girls' album.
As it says in the bottom left corner of the back cover, "None of the tracks of this LP have previously appeared on an album. They are all studio recordings".
This release, from the mid 1980s, is on the original 'Dead Spider' label and has the early custom printed labels. This is the first edition release of this album. Later reissues had less 'sharp' cover art and they had plain white record labels. ~~~~~~~~~~

This is a great 'Collector' record due to it's excellent sound quality, deluxe color cover, and custom labels. It's a collection of outtakes and studio rarities from the late 70's 'Some Girls' era.
Some rare alternate versions, some instrumental versions, and a few cover songs that the Glimmer Twins were toying with and considering for inclusion on 'Some Girls' and 'Emotional Rescue'
I was, and still am, a huge Rolling Stones collector, and, at the time, this was the first 'collector' record that contained a clean, crisp version of 'Claudine', so it was quite popular. ~~
Claudine Georgette Longet was a French-American socialite, actress, dancer, and recording artist popular during the 1960s and 1970s.
She was married to Andy Williams for many years. In 1977, she was convicted of negligent homicide in connection with the shooting death of her boyfriend, former Olympic speed skier Vladimir 'Spider' Sabich. 
He was 'accidently' shot by Claudine, with his own gun, in the groin, in the nude, in his bathroom in Aspen Colorado in March of 1976. 
Claudine, with an expensive defense team, was sentenced to 30 days and she got to choose when she wanted to report to jail, doing it on her own schedule. Many were outraged, thinking that she got away with murder. 
In November 1977, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards wrote a salacious and graphic song about Claudine's affair with Spider and his untimely death. Spider's  last words were reportedly "I always leave the safety on..." which is part of the lyrics.
The song was too controversial to be released on either 'Some Girls' or 'Emotional Rescue' at the time, but a version was originally released on later re-issues of Some Girls. ~~
The artwork for the front cover is based on the Rolling Stones 1976 European Tour posters, with the band rushing towards you, and the Swiss Matterhorn mountains in the background.
The back cover art is based on their controversial Sunset Boulevard Billboard and Ad campaign promoting their new 'Black and Blue' album in the summer of 1976.
The billboard featured model Anita Russell sitting on top of an opened, gatefold copy of the new album. She’s scantily clad and bound & tied up with rope, wearing dark make up, and looks like he’s been bruised and beaten up. 
Similar images appeared in Rolling Stone magazine, and in other promotional ads for the album. 
The Sunset Boulevard Billboard had large text that read: "I’m 'black and blue' from the Rolling Stones, and I love it" in giant script letters. The ads caused a lot of feminist and women’s groups to rightfully be upset.
The back cover artwork on this album replaces the Stones' 'Black and Blue' album under Anita Russell's legs with Claudine Longet's 1967 'Claudine' album.
The image on the record labels is from her 1968 album 'Colours'.
The record label of this record, 'Dead Spider', is an obvious spin on Spider Sabich's demise. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
CONDITION: I tried to show good hi-resolution photos of the cover, labels and vinyl in my pictures.
VINYL: The vinyl is still fantastic. Clean and bright. No obvious hairlines, scratches or damage. I'll call it a conservative VG+, to keep everyone happy, but you can see from my photos how terrific it looks. 
LABELS. The labels are clean and bright. No marks or defects.  The spindle holes are clean, suggesting infrequent or very careful play.
JACKET: The jacket is excellent. Clean and bright, but these were made from cheaper, thin cardboard and there are a few mild wrinkles and creases from being in my collection for 40+ years. There are also some pen marks, 'dots', next to some of the song titles on the back cover. Not bad, but should be noted.
The corners are sharp, no seam splits or issues. 
Overall, a fantastic LP of rare tracks from the late 70's and early 80's period of the Stones, what many consider their last, great, classic period.
I've owned this record since the mid 80s and it has been sleeved and kept in great condition for around 40 years now. It's about as good a copy of this rare mid 80's release as you're likely to find these days.
Add this rare. classic, Rolling Stones record to your collection. It has some great, rare songs and the record holds a special place in the history of collectible Rolling Stones records. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
