Another from my personal collection, (part of a huge collection that I have of UK Rolling Stones records)I have many many diferent variations of this album,,  This is very rare and sought after being one of the earliest in (mono) and more importantly complete with the original Robert Stace gatefold with the original booklet fully attached!. Yes this is the original, featuring the correct 'mono' at the spine also the correct catalogue number (later pressings feature both mono and stereo catalogue numbers and come with a die cut hole at the rear for mono and stereo!

Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) is the first official compilation album by The Rolling Stones, released in late 1966 on Decca Records in the U.K. and in the U.S. on London Records, the band's American distributor at the time. The album, including most of the band's hit singles, appeared in the U.K. seven months after its American release. The two releases featured different cover art and tracklisting. The front cover for the American release was used for the rear photo on the UK edition.!!!

U.S. release

Reaching #3 on the US charts, where it remained for two years, Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) proved to be a big smash and currently remains a popular Rolling Stones retrospective!!!!!.

In August 2002 this US edition of Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) was reissued in a new remastered CD and SACD digipak by ABKCO Records, with the British version remaining unavailable!!.

 U.K. release (This pressing)

The UK Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) includes tracks released after the American edition appeared. The Rolling Stones' debut 1963 single, a cover of Chuck Berry's "Come On", was included, but its more successful follow-up, "I Wanna Be Your Man" - composed by rivals (although in reality as friends) Lennon-McCartney - was left off the album.!!!!!!

Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) reached #4 in the UK charts!!!.

The album has been out of print in the UK for years, although it was officially released on CD in Japan for a time!!.

THE VINYL LAYS PERFECTLY FLAT ON THE TURNTABLE!!! ONLY IN STRONG LIGHT COULD POSSIBLY ANY SLEEVE REMOVAL  MARKS\SCUFFS (NO) DEEP AUDIO SOUNDING MARKS OR SCRATCHES CAN BE SEEN!  (NO) AUDIO SOUNDING MARKS OR SCRATCHES AT ALL (VERY VERY RARE TO FIND LIKE THIS)! AND I WOULD CLASS MYSELF AS HIGHLY CRITICAL (PLEASE LOOK AT MY COMPLETED SALES TRANSACTIONS OF THIS CALABRE AND YOU WILL SEE THAT I NORMALLY GET IT RIGHT!!!!! 

THE AUDIO QUALITY

I HAVE PLAYED THIS THROUGH TWO TIMES AT VERY LOUD VOLUME ON A TOP SYSTEM USING A DEDICATED MONO CARTRIDGE. THE AUDIO IS TRULY BRILLIANT, UNBEIEVABLE FOR 43 YEAR OLD STONES VINYL, IT'S CRISTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT  WITH NO SIGNS OF DISTORTION OR GROOVEWARE AT ALL!!THIS PLAYS LIKE NEW ON MY SYSTEMS! THE BEST THAT YOU WILL FIND AWESOME TOP MONO AUDIO THROUGHOUT!!EVEN BETWEEN TRACKS ANY INTERFEARANCE IS VERY MINIMAL THIS PLAYS ALMOST LIKE NEW ON MY SYSTEMS!!THIS IS THE BEST THAT I HAVE HEARD OF THIS PRESSING!!!(SO RARE FOR A VERY EARLY 1ST PRESSING THAT IS 41 YEARS OLD!)!!!!! .THE VINYL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL SHEEN FROM NEW. (GENUINE 41 YEARS OLD) !!!!!! I WOULD GRADE THE AUDIO AS TRULY AT THE VERY TOP!!!!! WITH (NO) SIGNS OF GROOVEWARE OR THAT THIS HAS BEEN OVERPLAYED AT ALL!!!!!!
