This is his first new studio album in 18 years since his 2005 album "A Bigger Bang." The album contains 12 songs and was recorded at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, Metropolis Studios in London, Sanctuary Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, Electric Lady Studios in New York, and The Hit Studio, also in New York. It was held at various locations around the world, including Factory/Jamano Studio. The seventh song, “Mess It Up,” and the eighth song, “Live by the Sword,” feature performances by Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021. Former member Bill Wyman plays bass on ``Live by the Sword.'' Lady Gaga (vocals) and Stevie Wonder (keyboards and piano) participate in the 11th song, "Sweet Sounds of Heaven." Paul McCartney plays bass on "Bite My Head Off," Elton John plays piano on "Get Close," and "Live by the Sword." The bonus track included only on the Japanese CD is "Living in a Ghost Town" released in 2020.
