This is one of the rarest Rolling Stones` albums in existence: the massively rare mispressing of the Stones’ 1971 "Hot Rocks (1964-71)" anthology, which includes versions of two songs (Brown Sugar and Wild Horses) TOTALLY different from the known, released, studio versions of the two classics. Except for a few obscure bootlegs, these two versions have NEVER before or after been released to the public.

The versions included here are truly different. It is not just a case of different mixes – these are DIFFERENT TAKES altogether. You will detect a major difference between the official versions and those included here within five seconds from the start of the songs. These versions are supposedly from the film "Gimme Shelter"

This take of "Brown Sugar" has rhythm section pushed all the way into the foreground, to the point where bass and drums are literally in-your-face. Bobby Keyes` famous sax solo in the middle of the song is COMPLETELY MISSING; Lead guitar solo also appears to be missing; only Keith Richard’s rhythm guitar is there, but Mick Taylor’s fretwork appears to be either missing or is mixed-out beyond recognition. Vocal take seems to be the same as the released version. 

On "Wild Horses", Mick Taylor’s guitar, notably the intricate soloing by the end of the song, is also missing; the song appears to be somewhat shorter than the released version; but the single biggest - and most obvious - difference is in Mick Jagger`s vocal track. It is absolutely clear that this is a COMPLETELY different take of the vocal track than the album version; Mick sings in a wonderfully dramatic, passionate, soulful manner – and his vocal take on this version is far superior to the one released on regular versions of "Hot Rocks" (the same as the one released on "Sticky Fingers"). There is also a noticable amount of echo and reverb.

COVER:  EXCELLENT,  The cover is in nice overall shape with some normal wear and tear.
VINYL:  EXCELLENT PLUS, The Vinyl is in overall excellent plus condition with only a few light marks that do not affect play.  There is some occasional light static in the quiet moments of "You Can't Always Get What You Want", nothing more.  This record has been thoroughly play graded.
LABELS:  EXCELLENT - Labels have a few spindle trails, but no writing, or marks.

GRADING - I follow Record Collector Grading Conventions with +'s and -'s to denote the upper or lower area of the grade.  All records are play graded for accuracy.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. There may be minor surface noise. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

PACKING: All records are shipped in cardboard lp mailers with a cardboard insert or empty lp jacket for reinforcement.  I ship lp's in new inner sleeves behind the jacket to avoid seam splits.  Records are housed in a resealable japanese mylar plastic lp bag.  Records have been cleaned using the Walker Prelude Cleaning System on a VPI Cleaner.

RETURNS: Records are guaranteed to be in the condition described above.  If a mistake is made, then the buyer can return the record within 7 days of receipt for refund of purchase price minus postage costs.  Records must be returned in the same visual and playing condition as they were sent.
