This is an early UK pressing. It has boxed Decca logos on the labels and 1W/4W matrixes.

The vinyl has been played and enjoyed over the years and the playing surface have various signs of this. I have played the entire record from start to finish and it plays well, and plays above its visual grading. There is some background noise in the quietest parts and the run-ins/outs, fades, silent-grooves and intros, and some clicks in places, but there are no jumps or skips and the whole record can be played and enjoyed. On side one there is some crackle which can be heard during quiet tracks like 'Love in Vain' but the side improves as it goes on. I would say that side one never play-grades lower than Very Good (VG) and ends up sounding much better than that. So overall I'm play-grading side one as Very Good Plus (VG+). Side two, probably grades slightly lower than side one, with some clicks in 'Midnight Rambler', a few in 'You Got the Silver' and some in the intros to 'Monkey Man' and 'You can't always get . . .' Parts of side two sound really good, but the overall play-grading for side two would be around Very Good (VG). Please note that the visual grading for the vinyl is a bit lower than the play-gradings.

The cover shows various signs of age and use, including creases, cracks to the laminate on the edges and spine, wear and marks etc, etc. Please look at the photos. On the front, there is a narrow strip where the surface of the laminate has been removed, and the sticker has been repositioned to cover part of this, but there are no seam splits, tears or other major issues.

Comes with the original inner sleeve as shown in the photos. It has creases, a couple of central seam splits and wear and tear at the opening, but it is intact and perfectly useable.

Where gradings are given these are based on the UK Record Collector grading system.

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packag­ing might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable sur­face marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for prop­erly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Plus (+) or Minus (-) are added where items fall between gradings. I only ever use one plus or minus.
