Description

ARTIST: THE ROLLING STONES

TITLE: THE ROLLING STONES

LABEL: DECCA MONO LK 4605

The best copy of this LP I have seen in 30 years collecting. No exaggeration; the vinyl is near MINT but say EX+++ to be safe and the sleeve (which with this LP is notoriously fragile and prone to wear) is equally near MINT. I recommend looking at the photographs to see the quality of this LP. The audio is, as befits such a superior copy, pretty much perfect - a little static between tracks but very minimal and no imperfections in the sound of the music at all. I have played it carefully and couldn't detect any problems through my Tannoy monitors - just gloriously true reproduction. Played at high volume it was joy with no high register distortion at all.

The VINYL: is beautifully shiny and glossy black and under a bright light has no visible marks on either side. To be sure I checked under low voltage halogens and there are one or two very very light 'paper' marks but you have to search to see them; they do not spring out at you. Were it not for those this would be visually MINT vinyl.

The matrix numbers are XARL-6271-2A and XARL-6272-4A. Side 1 mother stampers are 9 o'clock - 1, 12 o'clock - J7, 3 o'clock -11 O. Side 2 are at 9'o'clock - 5,5; at 12 o'clock - J7, at 3 o'clock - A,C. In addition side 2 has S11 stamped at 8 o'clock.

The LABELS: are totally unmarked as you can see with no writing or wear. The spindle holes show no sign of wear and there are but a very few spindle trails providing evidence that this record has only had a few careful plays.

The COVER: is superb - near MINT. It has only extremely minimal signs to show that is has ever been handled at all. In particular the un-laminated rear is beautifully white with no greasy, grubby finger marks or fading at all. The cover is flat, sharp with crisp right-angle corner tips. The edges are straight and have no wear. In particular the SPINE is straight, unworn, totally readable and amazingly still has both ends crimped - when have you seen that with this LP?  The opening edges are still razor sharp. The laminated front is superb with NO laminate lift, NO deep creasing and only an extremely faint circular impression of the LP only seen under bright light. The only signs of handling are two very light thumb creases; again only visible under angled light and three tiny spine laminate creases. Some copies would have been bought from the original record shop in worse condition than this!

The DECCA records mono red bag is EX++. No tears, creases or handling damage.

BUYER INFORMATION

I am a collector and I only sell records from my personal collection. I aim to be totally objective about the records I sell. However please note that unless the play quality is specifically mentioned records are graded visually. I aim to describe the visual appearance of all items accurately using the standards below which are based on the UK Record Collector Price Guide. The highest grade I use now is NEAR MINT. Records graded EX+ or EX++ would probably be called 'near mint' or 'mint' by most sellers. Please READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY and study photographs to avoid disappointment later. The item will not magically transform into a mint copy. I will refund only on items which do not conform to the description and standards set out here.

GRADING SYSTEM

NEAR MINT: The record appears to be in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and other inserts are perfect. For MINT grading see above

EXCELLENT: The item has been played and may have some light surface marks but there is very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. Cover and contents have slight wear.

VERY GOOD: The record has been played quite alot but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Cover and contents show some wear.

GOOD:The record has been played many times and the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably. The cover and contents are often damaged.

I use EX++,EX+,VG++,VG+ as subsidiary gradings. Unless the record is extremely rare I do not sell items which are less than VG in condition.

Check out my feedback and you will feel secure in bidding but please note I cannot guarantee to describe every detail of the record and cover BUT the grading will reflect the general, actual condition. ONLY if the grading does not reflect the overall condition of the item will I refund. But be assured that if there is any major defect not mentioned by me I offer a no quibble guarantee. I do not refund return postage costs.

I accept PayPal, cheques drawn on UK banks and Postal Orders. I do not make any additional charge for using Paypal. PAYMENT WITHIN 3 WORKING DAYS PLEASE - ANY PROBLEMS CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY
