1st ISSUE JAMES UPTON COVER FEATURES WITHDRAWN ''BLIND MAN'' TEXT (Only 1st Press)
EARLY MATRIX ENDINGS  "1A" & "2A"
LOOK! EARLIEST "1" TO "1" MOTHER STAMPERS BOTH SIDES (EARLIEST FOR THE BEST AUDIO ON VINYL)

Another from my personal collection, I have owned this copy for over 40 years and this has been stored in a case with the vinyl and sleeve seperated from the cover which has obviously preserved the album from the normal horrible, storage ware that is often seen! Please note! This is being listed for it's collectability rather than for its condition. (This is not Mint and has obviously been played, and has light general wear and tear with age) This being early pressing with very early 1A and 2A Matrix endings but what makes this so collectable is that it features the earliest "1" to "1" Mother stampers! (Earliest for the best audio quality available on vinyl). There is just light general storage wear with age, but in general this is nice and clean and a very enjoyable copy to own and have featuring the rare uncorrected "Blindman" text cover is very desirable (Only found like this on the earliest 1st issue covers) Play tested a few times at very loud volume with a dedicated mono cartridge, this vinyl is a joy to listen to, absolute stunning crystal clear and vibrant top audio throughout rarely found like this, notice that the hand claps and instruments are sharp and very vibrant on these earliest pressings and can't be found like this or on any other format available. The audio is fantastic, without any loud constant clicks, or pops, just light isolated places I noticed static type interference in the form odd very light and isolated ticks here and there, but fortunately nothing that would spoil the overall enjoyment of this record in my opinion! (Don't take my word for it listen to the whole album in the player below) Amazingly I heard no distortion at all and none of the usual background crackle that is usually heard on these 50 year old Rolling Stones records. It is my opinion that visually and audibly this vinyl has been played but not over played in my opinion! Becoming impossible to find like this! Look mega early 1A & 2A Matrix endings 50 years old like this!

The Rolling Stones No. 2 is the second UK album by The Rolling Stones released in 1965 following the massive success of 1964's debut The Rolling Stones. Not surprisingly, The Rolling Stones No. 2 followed its predecessor's tendency to largely feature R&B covers.

However, it does contain three compositions from the still-developing Mick Jagger/Keith Richards songwriting team!.

Using the cover shot for 12 X 5, the second US-released album in October 1964, The Rolling Stones No. 2's tracklisting would largely be emulated on the upcoming US release of The Rolling Stones.

While Eric Easton was co-credited as producer alongside Andrew Loog Oldham on The Rolling Stones' debut album, Oldham takes full production duties for The Rolling Stones No, 2, which was recorded sporadically in the UK and US during 1964!.

A huge hit in the United Kingdom upon release, The Rolling Stones No. 2 spent 10 weeks at #1 in early 1965, becoming one of the year's biggest sellers in the United Kingdom!

The Vinyl

This is the original and heavier and thicker \ deeper grooved type of vinyl only found on these early pressings! Later press were much more flimsier and less robust.

On initial visual inspection the vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and still retains its original sheen from new and looks lovely. On close inspection when looking under a strong light I find it hard to see any needle scratches at least nothing deep that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops. I notice some light surface grase type scuff marks only hear and there but again fortunately nothing deep that would cause too much interference in my opinion. Any other marks that could possibly be seen angled to strong light would be light whyspy sleeve removal only! Importantly I can see (no) deep needle or audio sounding marks that would cause loud annoying constant clicks or pops!

The audio quality

I have played this vinyl track for track four times at very loud volume prior to listing, on a top system using a dedicated mono cartridge. In my opinion it is obvious to me that visualy and audibly from the moment that the needle hits the playing surface that this vinyl has been played but not been over played the audio is clear sharp and very vibrant through out!

The audio is awesome crystal clear and vibrant through out! Please note! With (no) signs of distortion or any signs of grooveware! The first thing to note is that t his plays with no loud clicks and I never heard any background crackle or distortion at all during the audio, one of the most vibrant sounding vinyls of this pressing that I have heard, such as real pleasure to play, I really wanted to play and play this album over and over again and I noticed how clear the instruments sounded and hand claps were also clear, very nice to hear like this!. There was perhapes, the odd isolated static ticks heard in some quiet parts to mention when listening to the digital recording at the most static crackle was rarely heard  but even in between tracks background noise is extremely minimal (VERY NEAR PERFECT ON MY ANALOGUE SYSTEM, AND I WOULD CLASS MYSELF AS HIGHLY CRITICAL!). So rare for a stones vinyl that is nearly 50 years old! please note This audio is clear and vibrant all the way through! Please look at my completed listing of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right! THOSE WHO KNOW ABOUT THE RECORDS THAT I LIST WOULD KNOW THAT MY PRIME INTEREST IS THE AUDIO QUALITY IT IS MY OPINION AFTER PLAYING THIS ALBUM A FEW TIMES THE AUDIO IS GRADED AT THE TOP! Please note these earliest pressings are cut at a louder volume than later pressings that I have heard, in my opinion a much more enjoyable experiance! Please take the time to listen to the complete album in the player avove digitally recorded and is much more unforgiving than analogue systems but a good way to hear any imperfections in my opinion! I would grade the audio at least excellent to excellent plus for the most part!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion when describing the audio quality of this album and those who know the listings and vinyls that i sell my prime interest is the audio quality! Please allow for the odd isolated static\ticks  not consistent  through out the audio! This is a genuine (not) reissue vinyl that is 50 years old and would have been played on a system that is 50 years old!

Please note, this album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 40 years or more. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static\ crackle. A constant clean before each play is recomended. This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality. Points to note, I notice debrit on the playing surface after play so this will need cleaning before each play which will further enhance this audio quality.

The labels

These feature the unboxed decca logo (only 1st press) Also these feature the familiar Decca  circular groove! the kt tax stamper is also featured on the labels and the run off grooves (only earliest press) these are in superb condition. Spidering can be seen around the spindle hole when angled to the light, this has obviously been played but not over played in my opinion.  no major spindle ware around the the hole this is perfectly round. In my opinion this has not been over played. ''Made In England'' text is featured K.T. tax code featured (UK pressing)!

The cover

This is the original laminated  cover laminated by Clairifoil made by Celanese Limited and printed in England  by James Upton England! ) Absolutely super super glossy appearance this has obviously been preserved in this stunning condition by being stored in a poly sleeve for all of its storage life and being separated from the vinyl to prevent nasty ring ware and rubbing! There are (no) splits or tares around the edges. And again amazingly bare minimal thumb type, laminate creases and some light creases at the edges to the laminate and at the spine end.   (see photos)  without any major ring ware often seen on these 1st issues only noticed if looked at angled to the light.   The writing can be clearly seen at the spine The rear is exceptionally clean with (no) horrible names written. Any rubbing ware you would have to really look for indeed very light creasing at the rear, and slight grubyness only really noticed if looked for in my opinion.  This cover is superb compared to others that i have seen  and  the original earliest 1st press cover rare like this nearly 50 years old! This cover features the "Blind Man" text very soon later corrected This cover must grade at least excellent  in my opinion! Unbeleivably rare to find in this condition!

The Mono Decca poly lined record sleeve

This is also rare to find original Decca Mono Record sleeve becoming very fragile with age the edges are frail  with just minor creasing with age and perhapes slight browning/fading with age also. This is the original and 50 years old also (see photos)

I have had 100% positive feedback since I have been trading on ebay for the last seven years, so please bid with total confidance!
