Description
The Rolling Stones : Out Of Our Heads
This is the first stereo pressing on the blue boxed Decca label and it is fantastic condition, it looks 'as new'. It has the first known label variation of the boxed version and these were first produced in 1970. The cover has the green coloured affect and is in stunning condition.

Visual grading
With hardly any spindle wear this vinyl is in superb condition and has hardly ever been played. You would be mistaken for thinking it was brand new! It has an incredible glossy sheen and there are no obvious hairlines or scratches at all. There are just two mega small hairline marks on S2 (tiny!) and they have no affect on the audio whatsoever. This is as close to visually perfect as you will find! Beautifully clean run out grooves also.
Play grading
This album was recorded in at least three studios in the UK and USA and that is reflected in the inconsistency of sound. For example the overall 'sound' on 'She Said Yeah' is so different to that on 'That's How Strong My Love Is' and they are so obviously recorded in different studios with different engineers. I am pleased to say though that S1 plays with exactly the same quality as when it was pressed in the early 70s. There are no clicks or pops and no static or crackle either. This is an album that has been hardly played judging by the supreme clarity on offer here. There is that tinny sound but as I say that is how the album was recorded in the main. Another point of note is that there is complete silence in the dead wax between every track and also on every intro and fade out. The clarity is first class and this ranks with the best I have ever heard.
'Talkin' 'Bout You' on S2 plays to the same standard but with a small number of mega light dust ticks sounds. This is perhaps not even worthy of mention as they are so much in the background and totally non-intrusive. The remaining tracks play without fault and again it so rare to find a first press boxed stereo version playing as clearly as this. Whilst the sonic quality may not be the best due to the 'recording process' you cannot fault the clarity of the vinyl. There are no clicks or pops and once again there is total silence in the dead wax and on every intro and fade out.
In summary whilst there has been much conjecture about the 'sound quality' of this LP the actual quality of this vinyl cannot be faulted. It is without doubt a final upgrade archive copy and the cover is also in superb condition.
The Cover
This is one of the cleanest examples of this cover that you will find. Printed by 'Robert Stace' it has the green coloured affect front cover and is in superb condition. The edges and spine look 'as new' with no rubbing at all and there is no obvious corner wear also. The opening edge has no handling although it is a little 'wavy'. The laminated front cover has no splits or lifting and only a small number of minor creases next to the spine. That is the only obvious fault if you can call it that! The back cover is also in superlative condition and the white border and text could not be any cleaner. There is no marking to be seen anywhere. A superb example, this cover has been incredibly well preserved down the years.
Inner sleeve
The Decca poly-lined sleeve is in great shape with no side splits or marking. There is just one tiny 'nick' on the circular window and a minor amount of creasing.
The labels
The boxed Decca labels are in sublime condition with barely any spindle wear, nothing obvious anyway! They also have no marking or writing. Stunning examples.
