Up for auction here I have the rare Rolling Stones LP - Out Of Our Heads,mono EXPORT version. Released in 1965 on Decca Records,the catalogue number is Decca LK 4725. I'm quite sure this is a very first press with the XARL-6791-1A (Side 1) and XARL-6792-1A (Side 2) machine stamped matrix etchings.
Now onto the condition. For the vinyl I will be honest and admit that personally,this really is a starter copy. A collection filler if you like. It plays through ok but with crackle,however there are NO SKIPS OR JUMPS. Visually is where it lets itself down as there are numerous marks and scratches,some pretty unsightly especially on Side 2 but as I say it does play through without jumping.Side 1 fairs a whole lot better,just several light non feelable marks. It's ok but if you're looking for an EX or better copy of the vinyl then this isn't for you. One the plus side there are no writings/names on the labels which is often a rarity in itself! I will graded this record as being in Good+ condition (most I'm sure would say VG+) but not me.
HOWEVER,the fantastic different export front laminated sleeve fairs a whole lot better. There's a bit of typical and to be expected laminate lifting(mainly by Charlie's head) but no splits. The spine remains solid,beautifully white and perfectly readable. Yes there is some age related discolouration to the unlaminated rear but over all I would say this is most certainly one of the better copies of this alternative sleeve you will ever see graded as being in Excellent - condition.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM
MINT :The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed be Mint.
EXCELLENT :The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD :The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
I may use a + or a - to emphasise a grading which may be inbetween a grade. I will never use a mint grading for a 2nd hand/used record for instance. Mint- will be the very highest grade.
