Description

Very Rare Original Early 1971 Nr Mint **1st Press** **Large Chunky Zip** UK Pressing 'Sticky Fingers' by The Rolling Stones, with Rare Insert and Original Working Zip in Stunning TRUE Nr Mint/Ex++Condition Throughout!!! This Plays Beautifully, With NONE of the Loud Crackle/Pops Commonly Associated With This Flawed UK Pressing!!! Very, Very Rare in Nr Mint Condition and with Original UK 1st Press Large Zip!!!

After selling one of my pristine Nr Mint UK 1st Press copies of Sticky Fingers here on eBay, a lot of you have emailed asking if I have any more, especially the very rare earliest UK 1st press 'Large Zip' variant.  People are also always asking me if I have a Mint- 1971 UK pressing of Sticky Fingers that plays through without any crackles/hissing/pops etc. Well this as promised to all those who enquired is that record. You are bidding on **the earliest possible UK Pressing's of 'Sticky Fingers' (A3//B3 Matrix!) with original Mega Rare **Large Zip** and Original colour Insert! Cat no. (COC 59100) So where do I start with his record? It is quite simply the rarest UK pressing you will see, bar none. There are a number of features that mark it as standing out from all others; I will explain. Lets start with the zip feature. This record has the Mega Rare 'Large Chunky Zip 1st Press Cover'!!! Only a tiny amount were ever pressed with this cover in the UK and they are virtually impossible to find. These were from the first ever batch that rolled off the presses. They were almost immediately discontinued and replaced with a much smaller square-ended sleeve. This was due tot he fact that the larger zip was causing problems when packaged for distribution to retail outlets. As it was a large zip, it left imprints in the back of the record in front. This was noticed almost immediately and the much smaller zip was immediately introduced to alleviate the problem. I have been collecting vinyl for a very long time in the UK and have only ever seen 2 or 3 of these large zip variants, believe me, they are very, very rare!!!

However, there is another very important feature marking this as a very rare record, the condition. Let me explain further. The first UK pressings of the legendary LP were made very cheaply back in 1971 and and as a result virtually EVERY copy that turns up today has suffered severe deterioration of the playing surfaces; to put it another way - they play horribly. With severe loud cracking and loud pops right the way through the tracks; the acoustic intro's to 'Wild Horses', 'I got the blues' and 'Sister Morphine' being particular problem areas. If you have a UK pressing of this record, throw it on now and you will see what I am talking about. This is a real issue with these pressings and even copies that appear to have a blemish free playing surface will, upon playing. show this severe aural deterioration and will at best 'hiss' most of the way through (at worst be full of annoying loud crackles and pops). It is a well known problem in record collection circles and everybody is always on the lookout for that magical copy that plays Mint-. Well, this is my very own keepers copy and plays very close the that elusive Nr Mint. It has been in my collection since new and only played once from new (to record to tape). I recently played it a second time on my Mitchell turntable to double check and could not believe my ears, it plays through virtually without a sound! Although not completely silent, is still by far the quietest UK 1st pressing I have ever heard of this record with NONE of the annoying loud crackles, loud pops or hissing which blights virtually EVERY other copy of this fabulous record you will find today. Please don't miss this one as you will NEVER find another copy that plays as pristinely as this record!!! You will probably have to push the boat out a bit for this one as the bidding will be high, but whoever wins this record can rest assured that they will be the owners of one of  the rarest 'Large Zip' variants and also one of the highest grade copies of this record left in existence today - good luck!

This is an absolutely Legendary LP, from the inspired Andy Warhol-designed sleeve right down to the classic Stones tracks inc. Sister Morphine, Dead Flowers, Bitch, I Got the Blues, Brown Sugar and Wild Horses... A classic, and thought of by many (inc. me!) as the Stones greatest album. Who'd of thought that this was originally just intended to be an outtake LP the fill a gap whilst the Stones were writing new material? So here we have an beautiful Original UK Pressed LP complete with Mega Rare Insert, original Mega Rare 1st press 'Large Variant' working zip, and original 'Made in England' Patent Inner Sleeve!!! Please check our other auctions as we are currently listing some very rare UK 1st Press records...

This record is in STUNNING Nr Mint condition!!! The first thing you notice about it is its incredible thickness and weight (it is super heavy!), this is not a flimsy late 1970's repress - it is the real deal!!! This 1st press vinyl is in superb condition, it is really is a beautiful looking record and retains all of its deep mirror-like lustre and shine and has NO groove-wear!!  The yellow Rolling Stones centre labels are stunning! Nice and clean with no scuffs, tears, blemishes and no unwanted writing/ scribbles. There is just some very faint evidence of one spindle line around the spindle hole, which can only be seen when angling the disc toward a window and that's it!! What can I say about the vinyl that I have not already said? It is stone cold mint- with NO Scratches, No scuffing, NO Hairlines NO Bagrash, NO blemishes of any kind at all! Nothing - It is absolutely perfect!!! This disc looks like it came off the master press this morning!!! It has all the deep shine a newly pressed record that as only ever been played once before (in fact it looks completely un-played!!!  Impossible for a UK stereo 1st pressing of this album!!! The record still retains ALL of its original gloss and shine and has NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves!!! I am very pleased to state that this is a record that also plays as good as it looks (SEE ABOVE)!!! It it has NONE of the hissing, NO jumps, NO skips, virtually NONE of the between track crackle and NONE of the nasty loud pops that is so common with this record!!! There are no blemishes to report on, well just a tiny, tiny spot at the end of 'Dead Flowers' which is too petty to include as it was there when the record was made and s totally silent. The thick quality pressed chunky 1960's vinyl looks and feels great (it is super heavy and thick for a UK-pressed Sticky Fingers, most are much more flimsy!). I have no hesitation whatsoever with grading this vinyl as a strong Mint-!!! Its as simple as that it does not even have a hairline!!! It is that most elusive of things, a true Mint- (Visual and Aural!!!) UK Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers with one of the earliest possible matrix numbers (suitable for the highest grade mint- collection - you will not find a better example!!)

The Mega Rare classic UK 1st press 'Large Zip' Andy Warhol-designed sleeve is the best example I have ever owned or seen - and is a perfect match for the Nr Mint vinyl described above!!! Like I said I have only ever seen 3 in years of looking, and this was by far the best. Firstly, it shows NONE or the yellowing so common with this sleeve. Also the edges and corners are virtually MINT-!!! Virtually, no wear whatsoever and definitely none of the wear commonly associated with this record!!! It has NO Tears, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing or blemishes of any kind!!! The The belt buckle is is Super *Mint* shape and has not been ripped like most others out there - again, very rare for this album, this feature usually gets very worn, torn and ripped etc. This one is MINT!!! The small flap above the belt does have some minor creasing, but again, is much better than you unusually see, in fact on many copies I have seen this has been completely ripped off! The zip is in fine working order with with no missing teeth, kinks etc. It looks absolutely perfect, and unzips smooth and perfectly (I have only ever unzipped it once to check because I find this causes crease damage to these fragile sleeves). It I really cannot find any faults with this sleeve save for the tiny aforementioned crease above the belt!!! Of course, it comes with its its original insert, which is NR MINT!!! This stunning sleeve easily grades as Ex+++!!! This really is a one off chance to own a STUNNING example of this the rarest UK 1st press sleeve complete with Nr Mint 1st press vinyl & insert and insert!!! Don't miss this one as copies like this only come around very rarely!!! Check out our feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price!

***I have opted to make this a private listing as last time I sold a copy of this LP my bidders were constantly hassled with chancers trying to peddle them similar inferior LP's. So bid with confidence this time around and rest assured that you will not be pestered!***

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
