COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL UN-CENSORED INNER SLEEVE PRINTED ON THICK CARD
Lucille Ball, Raquel Welch, Farrah Fawcett, Liza Minnelli (on behalf of her mother Judy Garland) and the estate of Marilyn Monroe all threatened to take legal action over the use of the images printed on the inner sleeve. Several compromises were made including blurring the images but Lucille Ball and Raquel Welch were still not happy and a complete withdrawal of the artwork was the only solution.
But it's not only the artwork which offended; Jesse Jackson called the album "vulgar and obscene" due to its language and 'racial stereotyping' and asked Atlantic boss Ahmet Ertegun to withdraw the record. He responded by reminding Jackson that the Stones had built their career supporting black music
