very early MONO pressing of the first Rolling Stones UK album on the DECCA record label, LK 4605
in overall EXCELLENT condition with superb audio quality
Matrices : Side 1 - XARL-6271-1A with stampers "2 D2 and "I I G", Side 2 - XARL-6272-3A and stampers "1 and G D"

The condition of the vinyl (both sides) is truly EXCELLENT : the vinyl is impressively thick and heavy, completely flat, and has a beautiful sheen on each side. There are no nasty scratches or scuffs - incredible for a 50 year old piece of vinyl, especially this album which was the launch pad for the greatest rock 'n roll band ever. Held up to a bright light there are a number of surface hairlines (you have to look hard to spot them) but they are largely insignificant and have no adverse impact upon the overall audio quality...
The quality of the audio is EXCELLENT+ : brilliant sound quality throughout! No distortion, no irritating background background crackle and a great tone.  I won't deny that if you listen very carefully you may detect the occasional, inconsequential, light, background "click" caused by groove static - a professional clean would probably raise the "excellent" to "perfect".

As the photos testify, the labels are EXCELLENT : on each side there are a few barely noticeable, faint spindle traces but the colours remain vibrant and the "DECCA" writing is unboxed, confirming a very early pressing.
The condition of the outer sleeve is VERY GOOD+ : the colours and lettering are all vibrant and totally legible. These early Stones DECCA sleeves are renowned for their fragility and there is some laminate surface creasing on the front towards the opening edge, but the edges are all excellent with no scuffing, the spine is totally intact with barely any blemish, and the top and bottom reverse side flipbacks are excellent. There is a hint of some grubbiness on the reverse side with some age colouring adjacent to the top of the bottom flipback, and some minor ageing/discolouration/ringwear (see photos). 
Comes complete with original DECCA poly-lined protective inner sleeve, which itself is fully functional.

An excellent condition copy of this seminal Rolling Stones classic - a sound investment which will become increasingly sought after and deserves to grace any vinyl collection. I just can't believe it's 50 years old! Feel free to ask any questions - I can email you further photos if required.

My record grading adheres to the “Record Collector” guide, which has established a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records. These indicate the amount of wear and tear the disc, sleeve, and other items (such as lyric inserts) have been subject to and the condition that they are in at present. The seven standard condition categories, and descriptions of what each one means, are listed below:

Mint

The records itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items, such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

Very Good

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents are torn, stained and/or defaced

Poor

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents are badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
