Description
THE ROLLING STONES - The Promotional LP (UK issue)
In late 1969 Decca issued a limited edition LP designed for distribution to the various Radio stations as a complement to the two available compilation albums at that time (Big Hits (High Tide And Green Grass) and Through The Past Darkly (Big Hits Vol 2) ). 200 of these albums were made for the UK and 200 for the US (on the LONDON label). The 400 covers were made in the US bearing the catalogue number RSD1 although the UK Decca label bore the catalogue number RSM1 on the LP.
Over time these US sleeves (being made of thick cardboard) tend to fray at the edges and in the case of this item the front and back have become separated although it is all there. The real worth of this item though is the vinyl itself. It is in superb condition with just faint surface marks and retains a good surface sheen (amazing for something designed to be batterred around by DJ's!)
The LP comes with an insert explaining the reason for the release and also a copy of the poster that later in the year was part of the LET IT BLEED album. Also included is the Decca Stones catalogue.
This is a seriously rare item (possibly the most sought after in the entire Stones canon) and apart from the cover is in excellent condition. One for serious collectors only. Any questions regarding this item will be welcome.
I am a private collector myself and the purpose of the sales I put on E-Bay is to get surplus items to homes where they will be appreciated and to fund my own bids. I therefore base my postage and packaging costs on what I feel is reasonable and not to make a profit (Basically what it costs to get it to you).
All postage is for 1st class standard UK post. Should succesful bidders want signed for or insured parcels please contact me first and we can reach an agreement. Overseas buyers contact me for a price on postage.
The principle I adopt for myself when buying is basically DON'T GO FOR ANYTHING YOU ARE UNSURE OF. I therefore try to describe all my items as accurately as possible to minimise the need for further questions but obviously welcome queries if you have any. I will refund (less postage) only if the item has been inaccurately described and so long as it is returned in the condition I sent it to you. I cannot be held responsible for loss or breakage in the post but will assist where I can in any claims made to the Post Office.
PAYPAL is my preferred method of payment and the only one I will accept from overseas buyers. I will accept personal cheques from UK buyers (subject to seven days clearance before despatch of item) as well as postal orders.
