Description

Suposedly this is among the most rare of the Rolling Stones Catalog! Super scarce alt cover that was withdrawn so early on that there are only SIX known to exist, of which only FOUR have come up for sale… and THIS ONE would be number SEVEN! 
Was just going through a collection I bought earlier today and this one stopped me dead. Having had many copies of this LP over the years, my immediate thought was "what country is THIS from?" and when I discovered it was a US cover I knew it had to be rare… though I had no idea THIS RARE! It Books for $5-8K apparently. Anyway… heres your chance to get a "holy grail" RS collectible! 
The cover is a matte paper, differing from the other cover which was poster paper, and the dark blue shading on the right is different, as is the font. The cover rates about a "G" by goldmine standards with appreciable seam and spine wear (and a small cobweb visible in the spine pic that I have since removed, oops!) I have take pics of all sides and all pages to give you a thorough idea of what you are getting. There is some evidence of tape residue and some writing in the booklet, but the front and back are pretty clean, but when things are THIS rare, condition is a little less of a factor, and considering this is about the same condition as most of the surviving copies, I think the asking price on this is VERY cheap. There is one other on Ebay with a slightly less attractive front with a little fading and one adhesive pull, going for $7k!! I'm asking $2669 as I think that's what this will get.
OH! And the original mono LP is actually rather nice, weighing in at a HIGH VG+ with only some minor paper scuffing and EXCELLENT sounding deep mono grooves. This is the disc that came with it, as well as the original inner sleeve too… of all the copies out there, a total of five that have ever been sold, this is a pretty nice package!
