Ron Geesin and Derek Bowskill ‘The Musical Elephant’ 1974

(Musical Reading Ltd ME 2, 1974) Best known for his Pink Floyd collaborations ‘Atom Heart Mother’ and ‘The Body’, composer Ron Geesin has long been at the forefront of avant garde music utilising electronics, sound effects and tape manipulation. In 1974 he provided the score for The Musical Elephant which was a children’s story on record with accompanying music recorded at Ron’s Sussex home studio, Headrest.

This consists of a long-play seven inch single in a paper die-cut sleeve, housed inside an album size gatefold sleeve displaying the story in pictures as well as a jigsaw game (the game is missing). The story is narrated by Derek Bowskill on one side with musical accompaniment with the other side featuring Ron Geesin's score on its own.

The record is in excellent condition and plays well, the sleeve is in very good condition with a little wear and has been tape repaired at the top and bottom. The jigsaw game is missing.
