• Quality vinyl pressings of the Irish blues-rock guitarist at his peak!                                                                    BLUEPRINT  A blues-rock classic from the other side of the Atlantic, Rory Gallagher's 1973 outing, Blueprint, stands out as one of the Irish guitarist/singer's finest studio recordings. Opening with the one-two punch of the appropriately searing "Walking on Hot Coals" and the dynamic "Daughter of the Everglades," the album presents the revered six-stringer in top form, and supported by a tight backing band that includes keyboardist/guitarist Lou Martin. Although Gallagher easily astounds with his blistering electric playing, he also showcases his considerable acoustic skills on tracks such as "Banker's Blues" and "Unmilitary Two-Step," which both nod to old-fashioned rural blues and provide a platform for his raspy-voiced emoting.       TATTOO  Returning quickly to the studio in the summer of 1973 with his Blueprint line-up, Rory was in a prolific and confident mood for the making of his fourth full-length Tattoo. Rehearsals for the album began at a rowing club in Cork City, which allowed Rory to develop the musical arrangements of the material at a leisurely, relaxed pace. As a result Gallagher and company turned out some of the best material of his career, a varied 9-song set that truly showcases the evolution of Rory's songwriting ability. In addition to the barn burning opening cuts "Tattoo'd Lady" and "Cradle Rock," Tattoo also boasts the rare unplugged "20-20 Vision" and the dynamic "Who's that Comin'."     IRISH TOUR..  In 1974, award winning film maker Tony Palmer followed Rory Gallagher and his band on their tour of Ireland. The subsequent movie was released in cinemas to great critical acclaim and has gone on to be accepted as one of the great rock films. This newly remastered double live album compiled of recordings made during this tour, that included troubled Belfast, would give him one of his best-ever gigs, recorded for posterity on this album, and in the eponymous rockumentary. Irish Tour has sold in excess of two million copies world-wide and is a must for any Rory fan wanting their live fix.   NOTES FROM SAN FRANCISCO    In 1977, Rory Gallagher entered a San Francisco studio and recorded a whole album’s worth of material. The album was eventually shelved, as Rory explained to a journalist in the early 90’s, because “maybe eighty percent of the San Francisco album could come out in some form - remixed. The problem was: the mixing was getting complicated and some of the songs (just didn`t sound right).” For the first time on vinyl, the recordings from this session see the light of day on this 3LP package Notes From San Francisco. The first LP features the results of this recording session. LP 2 & 3 consist of a massively energetic live concert recorded in December of 1979 at The Old Waldorf in San Francisco. The lineup for this show features Rory on guitar & vocals, Gerry McAvoy on bass and Ted McKenna on drums.
