THE CHICKEN
If you've seen the movie 'Rock, Baby, Rock It' then you might recall seeing Rosco Gordon onstage playing "The Chicken" while a real, live chicken stands atop his piano. It was a R&R moment that would only be topped when Elvis Presley sang "Hound Dog" to a real dog on the Steve Allen show.
Rosco was no stranger around Sun Records, he'd been recorded by Sam Phillips for sessions that were sold off to Chess, RPM and even Duke. In June of 1955, when his Duke Records contract finally ran out, Sam signed him up for three years.
This record is from December 1955, and was released on Sun Records, as well as on their short-lived Flip Records subsidiary. BOTH had the same record number (#235). "The Chicken" was the intended A side and it's flipped here with "Love For You Baby."

CONDITION: VG- There's a light flurry of superficial scratches on this one. It went to a lot of parties but still has something to offer. Listen to the clip to hear how it plays.
