ROSEMARY HARDMAN – QUEEN OF HEARTS – FOLK HERITAGE – FHR 002M
1968 Live mono recording issued under the Folk Heritage Recording label catalogue no. FHR 002M. Manchester born Rosemary Hardman singing both traditional songs and her own compositions: (Side 1) Child of Merseyside, Huntingtower, Banks of Claudy, The Golden Vanity, I left My Baby Lying There, This is My Mountain; (Side 2) The Weavers Forever, A Long Way to Go, Pretty Saro, Lady Barnard + Little Musgrave, Ontario Bound. The sleeve has a description of each song and its background written by Rosemary herself.
The disc is overall clean & shiny with occasional light surface marks. We have listened very critically. At the start of side 1 there is a tiny crackle followed by about 25 ticks during track 1; track 2 has 1 loud/1 light tick; track 5 has 2 barely audible ticks. Side 2 has 2 loud ticks in track 3 and 2 VERY faint ticks in track 4. There are no skips or jumps and it is only track 1, side 1 that will seriously affect listening quality. The flip-back sleeve is in excellent condition with minimal corner wear.
