Description
Roy Hamilton "You Can Count On Me" / "She Make Me Wanna Dance." 1964. MGM K13291.
The man with a beautiful voice. He was also a boxer at one time! I read somewhere that Roy was in Elvis Presley's top 5 artists! I'm not surprised as I can hear a Roy Hamilton style in some Elvis tunes. Roy was born in 1929 and died around 40 years of age only. How sad. Many of his later songs were copied by other singers, too.
He had a few 45s that are today very hard to find that are on MGM and RCA Victor and I'm thrilled to offer this one.
At first glance the record looks super sharp for being 47 years old, but under a bright lamp, there are surface scratches in that area at the end of the groove area in the shiny part before the label starts. There are surface scratches across the grooves, too, but none are deep and do not affect the beautiful quality sound of this 45. Side B has more surface scratches than Side A, but once again, they are not affecting the quality. No skipping at all. I would give it the Goldmine rating of VG+ (very good +) and the label a NM- (near mint-).
