DESCRIPTION:
On offer with no reserve. The rarest (and first) UK EP by Roy Orbison - HILLBILLY ROCK ! This copy is the desirable first pressing UK MONO issue of Orbison’s early Sun recordings released on the Silver / Plum Tri centre LONDON label in 1957. Hillbilly Rock is becoming extremely hard to source in genuine collectable condition; fortunately the exampled offered in this auction is in the best condition I’ve seen on eBay or in the hands of specialist dealers. CONDITION:
A note on grading I use the Record Collector grading system with the addition of a (+) or a (-) to denote a slight increase or decrease in condition. Items described with an aural grade have been carefully played on a Thorens TD-124 MKII with an SME 3012 Tonearm and Ortofon SPU moving Coil Cartridge.

Cover:
The fully Laminated 2 flip back cover displays no wear to any seam or edge and no feathering to the opening side. The front slick is vivid orange, there is no fading to any of the text or illustration - it really looks superb. The back of the cover shows some yellowing, there are no tears, stickers, writing ring wear or other detractors. Overall condition = 100% Excellent (EX)
Record:
The deeply seductive full gloss lustre of the surfaces feature a few non sounding paper scuffs only under direct angled light. The disk is flat with no warp or buckle of any kind. The wonderful Plum / Silver Tri London labels show light signs of use to the spindle hole only. There is no writing, rips, stickers or other detractors. The audio quality of this MONO pressing is a total joy, I have listened through both sides keenly and the resultant condition grade of this copy is a solid EX (Excellent)…Please take the time to study the images above and listen to the sound clips which I hope illustrate the condition of this record far better than wordy descriptions
