This is the MEGA-RARE and much coveted FIRST EDITION of the CLASSIC RECORDS/RCA LIVING STEREO 45 RPM BOX SET, long out-of-print, one-sided pressings spread out onto 9 LP's.  The result is a sound that is as close as you can get to the original master tapes. I am the original owner of these records.  They are all still sealed. I will ship these records worldwide, and I will always combine multiple purchases to save you money on postage. 

This set is the Granddaddy of them all, the Mother and Father of all LP sets. The Great One!!! Stunning sound originally captured by U.K. Decca engineers for RCA Living Stereo in a way that's never been equaled. From the moment you drop the needle, you are captivated in a way different than any other recording. If you're a Tchaikovsky fan like me, you will go nuts when you hear these performance of Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty. All the other works shine under Ansermet as well, especially Chopin's Les Sylphides, Schumann's haunting and poignant Carnaval and the Rossini-Respighi La Boutique Fantasque. ORIGINAL FACTORY SEALED CLASSIC RECORDS 9-LP 45 RPM LIMITED EDITION OUT OF PRINT AUDIOPHILE BOX SET IN MINT/MINT CONDITION. Extremely well taken care of at all times, stored upright in a protective cover in a smoke-free air conditioned home. Rare (less than 1000 ever made) 45 RPM Audiophile edition. 9 LPs in a deluxe library grade box. Mastered by Bernie Grundman himself using the first generation 3-track UK Decca/RCA Living Stereo master tapes. Meticulously and loving pressed on Super Vinyl-Profile (SV-P) virgin vinyl.  This half-speed mastered 45 RPM 9-LP deluxe box set achieved sound quality that virtually every leading audiophile critic ranked better (BY FAR!) than the Soria box -- and this edition has NO SURFACE NOISE!!!

Classic Records used the same master tape to make this record as RCA did, but Classic mastered it at half-speed, meaning the tape was played back at half speed while the master laquer was cut at half-speed. This process enables more of the frequency and spatial resolution of the musical signal to be transferred from tape to laquer, resulting in greater signal to noise ratio and wider dynamic range.

Then, after meticulously and artfully executing each of the several critical steps in between, super virgin vinyl was used to produce these stunning records, achieving incomparably accurate transfer of the musical information from the stampers to the LP, and significantly reducing (basically eliminating) surface noise. On the other hand, even when they were new, many RCA shaded dogs suffered from high levels of surface noise, primarily because of poor or inconsistent vinyl.  Finally, only this first Classic edition was made when the master tapes were still relatively free of age-related degradation.  The later editions from a few years back were made well after the master tape had begun to degrade, a fact which becomes immediately clear when comparing the sound of these LPs to the later Classic pressings.
