RT EXCLUSIVE | Kurt Elling and Charlie Hunter featuring Nate
Description:
Grammy award-winning jazz vocalist Kurt Elling builds up to his second and highly anticipated SuperBlue album in Fall 2023 with this 6-track EP 'Guilty Pleasures,' with guitarist Charlie Hunter and featuring special guest drummer Nate Smith - two musicians who are regarded in their own right as some of the world's leading players on their instruments. Bursting with his trademark charisma, energy and showmanship, fans of Kurt Elling’s debut SuperBlue album will be in for a treat with 6 high-octane covers (including Al Jarreau's Boogie Down like you’ve never heard it before) - yet there’s an additional playfulness and ‘jamming’ feel to this that is utterly compelling. Kurt’s usual spark and comical story-telling is at the centre, leaving listeners wanting more and more - he continues to impress with each and every recording, pushing boundaries and never satisfied with standing still. The New York Times described Kurt as “the standout male jazz vocalist of our time"- and it's a statement that remains more accurate and profound with every release.
