RUDY VALLEE AUTOGRAPHED Privately Recorded 78 RPM ALBUM, 1940, Picture on Labels

Presenting an autographed album of Rudy Vallee performances from around 1940 in a four record set.  Although identified on their labels as private recordings, the records have splashy Rudy Vallee picture labels (see photos below) and fidelity to rival the best of commercial recordings.  Along with the James Montgomery Flagg portrait associated with Rudy, the front cover bears Vallee’s actual autograph to the recipient of this set, "Harold".

The 78 rpm records were pressed by Electro-Vox Recording Studios of Hollywood. There are two 12" and two 10" records bound in this unnumbered album set. 

The records and labels are in excellent condition.  This set has probably not been played much, if at all.  There is a slight browning to the outer edge of the album cover, but otherwise, it is also in excellent shape. 

This collection of dramatic works represents the kind of radio and theatrical work Rudy was writing and performing in the late 1930s and into World War II.

Here are the contents:

The first record, which is 12" diameter, consists of "All Points West", in two parts. It was written by Rodgers and Hart with orchestra conducted by Eddie Paul.

On the second 12" record in the set, Rudy sings "Where To" and "You Took Me Out of This World".  Eddie Paul again conducts the orchestra.

The next record, a 10" size, is a dramatic recitation set to music entitled "Cloth Of Liberty" in two parts on a red, white and blue label.  The work was written by Irving Askenazy and features narration by John Barrymore and singing by Rudy. This is the only disc that does not feature the image of Mr. Vallee on its label.

The last record, also 10" diameter, is another dramatic reading, "I Carry the Mail", in two parts.  Once again, Eddie Paul is the featured orchestra providing background.

This album is the ultimate collectible for the Rudy Vallee fan!
