Description

Up for auction is a very nice original pressing of the Rufus Thomas Memphis soul classic Walking The Dog, originally released in the U.S. on Stax Records (704) in 1963:
-Guaranteed original pressing, NOT reissue -Original light blue Stax labels -Original Mono pressing (not fake reprocessed stereo) -Original laminated paste-down cover -Heavy inflexible vinyl -No UPC/bar code on cover -Vinyl comes in audiophile protective inner sleeve
Note: Most copies of this album that you'll come across are usually heavily worn and played out, but this one is one of the nicest I've come across in years of collecting.
Cover is very nice, lamination still has much of its original shine.  No ring wear!  No seam splits.  Corners are nice, just some light rub.  Back is nice, bone white, with some light rub and age with former owner's signature (see photos).  A nicely preserved original, better than most you'll find. Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+)
The vinyl is also very nice, still retains its original glossy shine.  Both sides look generally clean, with one very small superficial scuff on Side One that does not affect sound quality.  Has a few small superficial marks here and there -- again, nothing significant, most are hard to see except under strong light.  Labels are clean, spindle holes are not worn.  Looks like this record has been played a few times but handled with care.
Spot-tested: I've spot tested this record, and when played in the recommended Mono Mode, the audio quality is excellent, generally clean and clear.  No significant or distracting surface noise or wear.  Full-bodied mono sound! Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+)

Combined Shipping:
Yes, I offer significant combined shipping discounts.  Just ask!

International Shipping
:
Because of unreliable postal services, I will ship internationally only through eBay's Global Shipping Program.  It is more expensive, but it protects both the buyer and seller against loss or damage.

How I Pack Your Records:
I remove the records with inner sleeves from the covers prior to packing.  I sandwich the record between two pieces of cardboard for padding and protection.  I also reinforce the corners of the shipping box to protect the corners of the record jacket from damage.
100% satisfaction guaranteed, free returns on all albums.  My 100% positive feedback on rare vinyl allows you to buy with confidence.
About Me: -I have been a record collector for over 40 years and a seller on eBay for over 20 years.
-I consider myself a professional, not someone who is selling records he found at a garage sale like many on eBay.
-I try to grade accurately -- beware of sellers who claim they grade "conservatively" -- rarely is that the case.
-I don't just give a record a grade, but I also explain why I give it the grade that I do. -I explain why I describe a record as "original" or a "first pressing" -- most records on sold on eBay as original are NOT. -I visually grade my records, and sometimes spot-test them for audio quality -- I can't listen to them all the way through. -Every stereo system is different, and what sounds good on mine may not sound good on yours.  If so, return it. -Every seller makes mistakes not matter how much experience they have -- record selling is NOT a perfect science. -If I make a mistake, or the record isn't what you expected, return it for a full refund -- and I will pay for return shipping. -I have 100% positive feedback for a reason -- and I strive to keep it that way by being accurate about what I sell.
